Perth...cool, I spent crimbo on the beach at Perth....very weird!!!! Too hot!!!!

I stayed with my family in Perth so don't really know about the hostel's. You could maybe stay with your family for a bit so you can check the place out. I would aim for a modern hostel, they shouldn't be that dear and they do block bookings too, you can always move onto to another one if it's not nice.

Perth's quite quiet so I would try and get travelling, the west coast is very sparce and most travellers head to the east coast but they say that the reef on the west is better than the great barrier reef!!!!

I went up as far as Monkey Mia which is about 10 hr drive from Perth, the wild dolphins come in shore and you can feed them which is cool.

I could go on and on and prob bore you but you will have a ball and not want to come back!!!!
