Why So Serious?
As I'm sitting jubilantly in a movie theater, a girl in the row in front of me requests that I sit with her. Jokingly, I reply, "I love my friends more than some curious woman who may or may not have a personality, or any venereal diseases for that matter." Offended, she turns around in an intense "hmph". At the time I had been too charmed by the antics of Johnny Depp to take this upon consideration, but upon leaving the building, it began to dawn on me, "For what reason should one take offense to such a harmless joke?" It's quite a rarity for us to get exactly what we want, and yet we tend to expect so much from others. Based on these expectations, we fail to see the humor in our spontaneous encounters with other people, and we desperately need to start doing that.
On certain occasions, I've been known for my flirtatious endeavors to win the hearts of many (a never-ending quest). My appetite for amusement is never satisfied, as I am a glutton for attention (though some would say punishment). Aside from the fact that women generally have some set of standards, I face another obstacle when practicing the art of seduction: a sense of social obligation to avoid carelessness at all cost and to embrace a more cold, perfunctory nature.
One evening, at a basketball game, I took it upon myself to indulge my drive for hilarity by approaching two sisters and saying, "Which one of you will it be, if not both?" They hadn't been the least bit amused, but I certainly felt accomplished, because I had been entertained by my shenanigans, and entertainment is a cornerstone for a peaceful society.
Upon deep consideration, I have come to conclude that if we don't come to a more fun outlook of life (at least build a tolerance for humor) then what lies ahead is a set of detrimental consequences.

The thing is, there isn't actually a biblical account for the Earth's Age. Many, both skeptics and believers alike, estimate the Earth's age based on genealogies, but make the mistake of not considering the original Hebrew in the context of the "7 day" creation. When considering the original Hebrew, the translation actually refers to a set of vague sets of time that could range from millions to billions of years, and so the Bible makes no claims concerning the Earth's age. -
