You know you're a nurse when...
*When using a public toilet, you wash your hands with soap for a full minute and turn off the faucets with your elbows.

*Everyone, including complete strangers, tells you about each and every ache and pain they have.

*You can almost SEE the germs on doorknobs and telephones.

*You can clean the dirtiest wound/stoma and still not be put off your lunch straight afterwards.

*You find yourself checking out other customer's arm veins in grocery waiting lines.

*You've told a confused patient your name was that of your co-worker and to HOLLER if they need help

*Every time someone asks you for a pen, you can find at least three of them on you, all with the names of prescription medicines on them, none of which you ever needed to pay for.

*You can only tell time with a 24 hour clock

*You believe not all patients are annoying ~ some are unconscious.

*Your sense of humour becomes more warped each year, almost everything can seem humorous...eventually.

*you gauge how busy your shift was by how many times you were able to use the bathroom.

*you are totally comfortable with discussing body fluids or the worst case of vaginitis you have ever seen at the dinner table and consider an article on GI diseases pleasant mealtime reading.

*you watch ER just to point out the mistakes, and are disappointed none of the doctors in real life look like that!

*you hear a truck reversing and automatically search for the beeping gemini pump to change the empty IV fluids.

*You can read the doctors prescription word for word, and are asked to decipher it by the pharmacist

*you wrap presents with medical tape

*you know it's a full moon without having to look at the sky

*you're idea of fine dining is sitting down to eat

*you consider it a mortal sin to utter the word "quiet" while on shift

*you avoid unhealthy looking shoppers in the mall for fear that they will drop near you and you'll have to do CPR on your day off.
