My name is Jack Rivers. I am one of very few survivors trapped like fish out of water.

It began like any other day in Raccoon City, the streets were quiet and filled with very little activity as day had turned to night....most people were doing what they normally do on a saturday night, ranging from watching TV to going to the big time clubs everybody was having a good time.

But, as usual the men and woman of the Umbrella Corperation were hard at work, umbrella had many people fooled by the wonderful picture it''s company creates with it's pharmaceutical benefits to the average lifestyles, and to anybody who saw behind that picture, they're usualy not seen around.....so what could possibly happen when a large pharmaceutical company seemingly above the law tests on live humans and animals.....Well let's just say soon everybody would see beyond the pretty picture.

It was exactly 11:30pm and the streets had gone from quiet to bustling, and nearly everybody was in the city hall as it was the New Year's Eve party on a moonlit saturday night. It was the biggest turnout to a new year's eve party that had ever been recorded in raccoon city's history. The clock struck 12:00am new year's day had arrived, the city errupted in a giant chant "Happy New Year" ....if only they knew what chaos would ensue a mere 15 minutes later.

Raccoon City, the city hall, the party carried on for another 15 minutes, then disastor struck.....an explosion rattled the happy atmosphere around the city. The explosion came from Umbrella Corp, fire crews,ambulance crews and police crews were first on the scene, followed naturally by several news crews who broadcast everything live...i watched on from my TV at home.

It seemed the crews had everything under control, the fire was starting to calm. But then all of a sudden people started crawling out of the fire,paramedics rushed to help them.....this was when it started....the emergancy services became the target of what seemed to be cannibalism...the police began to open fire.....the burning victims dropped and got right back up ripping the flesh off any living thing they came in contact with, more backup arrived Riot Squads and several Army units were mobilised to the scene only to become what they were fighting against as more living people dropped dead, the cannibalism increased and it doesn't take a genius to realise the dead were not staying dead, then began the hunt of basic instinct...the hunt for food. And tonight we were on the menu.

It's now 5 hours since the story began.....and i find myself and few others with the hardest task ever faced...Staying Alive.
