Vienna and Prague (days 20-22)
After Budapest and the godawful night train, we took a lovely train to Vienna. We arrived late enough as we weren't sure if Oisin was alright to travel. After plenty of rest he told us he was good to go, so we hopped on the train and arrived about 10 or 11. We decided to have a fairly early night, though I ended up staying awake much later than planned as I ran into a couple of sound English guys (Owen and Ryan) and was talking to them for ages. After that, I started talking to Marcus (an American guy) who had his phone robbed from his room by a Turk. Nearly got away with his laptop but he got him first. Had a good talk about economic-related stuff. Interesting chap. Hit the hay about half 3 or 4 and got woken up at 10.15am by the fucking cleaners. Saps.
Seeing as we had to get out of the room by 10.30am we decided we might as well get up early and do something. We booked another night, but as we couldn't get into our room until 3 we hit the town and saw Stephansdom (I had seen it already, but it's still damn impressive) and the Hapsburg Palace which is just amazing. The grounds especially. Had a great time running around the maze and just admiring it - didn't get to go up the hill at the back of it as we had to tour the inside of the palace itself but still, looked amazing! After that it was about 5 or 6 and we all wanted to shower so we went back to the hostel. After preening ourselves, we got a taxi to the Bermuda Triangle (the Templebar of Vienna) and went to a bar called Philosoph (I think.. something like that anyway) and pretty much decided to fuck myself over by starting the night with 2 Jagerbombs and another shot of Jager, swiftly followed by two steins of beer. Got talking to some cool Austrians but before we knew it the place was closing, so we got a dodgy taxi back. I don't want to be reminded of that damn taxi. Anyway, we got back safe and all's well that ends well.
Next day, we decided to hit up Prague for a night as Ois, Ronan and Conor were all flying home on the Friday. Twas an interesting, poker-filled train journey - I, for one, came up over a fiver on top! My 3rd game of poker ever and my first positive figures game
though that figure would have been much higher if it wasn't for Andy, the English guy who decided to join the game. Our friend Andy came up 30 euro on top of what he bought in with.. THIRTY EURO! We all bought in with 5 at the start, and there was 6 of us (of course Shredz bought in several times, thus increasing the pot). A bloody impressive game. Sam (another guy who joined the game before Andy, and then left to give him his place) took a photo of the six of us so I'll upload that when I get it from him. We went back to the Golden Sickle hostel where we stayed before, got some nice Tex Mex shizzle and went back to the hostel. Although it was the guys last night, I was far too wrecked to head out, so I got an early one - the previous night in Vienna took it out of me. Next day, myself and Shredz got the train to Berlin, albeit two hours later than we planned (the one we were aiming for left early) an we've been there since! We changed our flights to go home on Wednesday, so we'll have spent 6 nights here by the time we leave. Good times.

Budapest (days 16-19)
After Krakow we moved south once more, to the previously heat-woven city of Budapest. Luckily for us it wasn´t that hot when we got there - the highest was 31 degrees and that´s more than enough for me
unfortunately for all of us, we managed to get sick. Yeah, all 5 of us. There must be somethin´ in the water.. Or food. Or perhaps we were just totally fucked over from the night train where 7 of us were cramped into a cabin that fits 8, and thus unable to sleep.. who knows! We spent the first day recovering from not sleeping, and that night we all went out to a bar in town. Had my first White Russian ever, and it was lovely. After the second one, thats where it all started, like razors in my stomach. Conor was also feeling pretty bad (with what later turned out to be tonsilitis) so we headed back to the hostel. On the way we got talking to some people we met at an ATM - John, Darius, Keira and.. I can´t remember the other one´s name. Went back to their hostel which was nearby and went up to the bar for a half hour, until I couldn´t stand it anymore and had to head back. Woke up in the middle of the night feeling shit and that was that. Spent the next day eating practically nothing and not doing much either.
Luckily by the next day I was feeling much better. We discovered that Tool were playing Sziget while we were there, so Shredz and I went down to check them out. Sure it was only 8000 forint (32 euro), wasn´t it! And it was amaaaazing. I wasn´t even a huge Tool fan beforehand, but the music and the show itself worked great. They even had LASERS!! OOOOH!! After they finished, we walked around the campsite for a while, looking for the rollerdisco and the jazz arena. After not finding either, we looked at the other shizzle there - they have a rapelling tower! And the campsite is ridiculously clean. Puts Oxegen to shame. Seeing as I was ill though I didn´t get to sample any fine beers, or anything like that, but I was happy enough.
There´ll have to be a return to Budapest at some point, because there´s so much there I didn´t get to see cos of sickness. Alas. We´re now in Berlin, our final city. Time to make the most of it

Krakow (days 12-15... or so)
I spent about an hour and a half of the 3-4 journey with my head out the window of the train, much like a dog would, admiring the countryside. Amazing stuff. Some Polish kids and an old man also waved at me, which made it even better. Polish people are pretty cool, and warm, and not just because of that!
I can´t actually remember the order we did anything here, it´s all a bit of a haze. But I remember I liked Krakow a lot. The city itself is beautiful. We saw the Florian Gate (the only bit of city walls left around Krakow), the Corpus Christi church (enough gold there to shake a large stick at), the Wawel Castle (nice), the Jewish quarter (Kazimierz), all the old city, and more. Then I went and got sick. Spent a day and a half doing sweet FA
managed to pull it together to go for a cool night out to Kazimierz, where we went to B-Side indie bar. I liked it, but nonetheless we went on to someplace else, a club on the outskirts of the centre of the city. It was cool, but by that stage I was tired and fairly drunk so I went back to the hostel to chill out. Met Jason, Kat and Louise there, had an entertaining discussion about the beetroot concentrate that Jason thought was beetroot juice, and witnessed the other Irish starting a Thin Lizzy singalong. Good times.
We also checked out Auschwitz. Id wanted to go there for quite a while to see it, and its pretty shocking, as you´d expect. Most of the gas chambers are destroyed now for several reasons, but we did go into one and saw where it all happened. Crazy stuff.
Right now we´re leaving Vienna to head up to Prague for a night. There we'll lose Ronan, Oisin and Conor, but me and Shredz will head to Berlin and fly home on Monday. Interrail MK-II is coming to a close
