Hope everyone's well!
We'd like to offer a big box of thank you to the man, the legend Paolo Nutini for inviting us to support him on the Inverness & Glasgow legs of his May tour. Both gigs were fantastic, and we'd also like to thank everyone who got there early and had a listen to us, and especially all you who tracked us down ont t'internet afterwards!
Some pictures from both gigs to come shortly..
Now, if you're sitting comfortably then I'll begin.
On the way home from Inverness on the Tuesday night we had to drive down what we were warned was the 3rd worst road in Europe (it's a fact!)
Ryan "The Butcher" McFearless, the man behind the sound-desk, took this as a challenge.
He didn't really. But he did manage to hit two of the A9's finest, and probably fatest deer. In an attempt to avoid the beasts he swerved, and the van flipped onto its roof and slid right across the road (missing the oncoming lorries) and crashing into a lay-by.
Scary, scary shit!
Seriously though, thank god everyone was ok.
Except for a couple of cut hands and a severe attack of Giddy-ness.
We all got a bit of a fright, as did the deer.. so much so that their heads fell right off.
A passing van, coincidently belonging to an entertainment company from Glasgow stopped and kindly offered their help. They agreed to take all our stuff in their van and take it back to Glasgow for us. Super nice chaps! This still left us with a problem though. All the cars were full, and the van was a right off.. how could we get our boys back to Paisley? The police were on the scene by now and they arranged for Ryan, Fraz & Kev to be taken to the nearest hospital (about 15miles away in Pittlochrie) for some stitches and check-ups.
After a brainstorming session we gave Paolo a phone as he hadn't left Inverness yet and after confirming everyone was ok, he gladly offered his help. He swung by Pittlochrie hospital and picked the boys up on his tour bus to take them home at about 4am.
Remarkably all our gear was fine too except for Ad's strat and Andys cybmals, and we took to the stage again that night in Glasgows ABC. It's a great venue and the crowd were great again, fun was had by all and the mayhem of that morning seemed like it happened years ago.
We'd like to thank "Top Hat Casino's" and Paolo and his team for their help and generosity.
All in a nights work for Marvel Heights.
Come back soon for some new tunes, pictures & videos.
Keep it real..
