Self governing domain name for Indigenous Peoples
Dot Indigi is formed from the partnership between the International Indigenous Task Force (IITF) and the New Zealand Maori Internet Society (NZMIS) with the conditional support of World Intellectual Property Office WIPO and technical advise from:

The aim is to assist Indigenous Peoples around the world to be represented on the Internet in a space that is self governing, representative and restrictive of Intellectual Property abuses.
.indigi also caters to the plethora of Indigenous Peoples who do not have the resources to apply for their own gTLD.
The IITF are the Advisory Board who will act as Indigenous advisors to the organisation.
Karaitiana Taiuru is the recently appointed Leader of the dot indigi group who will manage the daily affairs of .indigi while growing the organisation.
Introduction
The Dot Indigi organization will apply to ICANN for a new gTLD <.indigi> (or other if the community suggest a different version) to represent all indigenous groups of the world, thus removing the existing indigenous representation issues of the predominantly English DNS. The ability to include non English characters will be a priority at the 2nd and subsequent Levels.
The <.indigi> gTLD will offer registration at the 2nd Level Domain to indigenous organizations who would then govern their own domain name space and resell/distribute 3rd Level Domain names or retain a general project type name at the 2nd Level via the official .indigi registrars.
Several other 2nd Level Domains will be made public to cater to indigenous individuals or smaller such groups who cannot justify the expense and set up of their own 2nd Level Domain.
It is envisaged that an annual percentage of profits would be given back to indigenous groups to participate more in ICT projects that empower their organisation and people.
Benefits of .indigi
Indigenous people will control their own Internet space thus reducing the current threats of cyber squatting, Intellectual Property rights violations, authentication of content etc.
Render many indigenous squatted domain names of no value to domineers.

Solidarity Picket for October 15th Arrestees on 17th October
9:30am-10:30am outside the Auckland District Court
Deposition hearings for the arrestees of the October 15th 'anti-terror' raids recently ended.
On October 17th the judge will release his decision as to which charges will proceed to trial.
The October 15th Solidarity group in Tamaki-Makaurau are calling for a morning picket to show support and solidarity for the arrestees.
We have not forgotten the state surveillance, repression, and imprisonment of Maori sovereignty activists and anarchists.
We have not forgotten the racist harassment of the residents of Ruatoki.
We have not forgotten the long history of colonisation, violence, and confiscation. Nor have we forgotten the indigenous struggle for self-determinatoin and resistance to the colonial state that continues to this day.
Come show your support for Tino Rangatiratanga and Te Mana Motuhake o Tuhoe. Stand in solidarity with the arrestees.
Auckland District Court 9.30am-10.30am on Friday October the 17th.

O no dramas man was too early even for us lol... But yes had a gud trip home, long but was gud... Cyrus was gud and Joe was gobb stopped by the whole ordeal lol, but hes liking perth so far and he hasnt even been anywea yet lol... The weather is sooo much better here, makes me glad to be back... But still wishing I was bak home miss everybody lots and lots and poor Cyrus has gone from having a house full of cuzzies to jus mum dad uncle and grandad... Poor boy, will have to make trips home as often as possible... Happy rona enjoyed wot little time she had with Cyrus, hopefully we can make another trip home agen for her to have more time with him... Man hes jus learnt so much from being with his cuzzins bak home turning into a rite little terror now...

Spoke to my frend, shuld be flying in july 2nd, jus not sure of the times yet... But will stay in aux til like saturday, so mum & dad can spend time with cyrus, then we be up north til about the 17th coz wes will fly bak 18th i think, and me n cyrus will spend til the 31st in auckland then fly bak too... Yay so excited, Cyrus gonna go crazy with all the peoples hes gonna make lol... Oh and hes finally gettin his top teeth so hes being clingy, but dealing with it heaps better then wen he got his bottom so thats gud..!
