Hi my real name is Alan but everyone knows me as SPUD.I have been a Christian since the age of 12 but i really have felt God move in my life over the last 10 years I belong to Jesus and attend Glengormley methodist church. I am involved with various youth movements around Glengormley and Belfast.
Just want to say that " OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD " and through him all things are possible. MIZPAH to all.

  • Something to think about !!

    I was trying to think about something deep and meaningful to write about in my blog. Hopefully if you can read the whole of it then at the end it will make a little bit of sense to you. As a Christian i think that we are tougher on ourselves than anyone else could ever be ! So i am going to write about situations we find ourselves in and try and come up with a response that is suitable.

    1. You are in school/work when someone says to you " what sort of a christian are you i heard you swear earlier on " ?
    Response. " i admit that i am not perfect otherwise i wouldnt be here, if my swearing has given you a wrong impression of christianity i would be only too glad to talk to you about it.

    2. When you are alone and thinking about how your life and walk with God are not what you want them to be !
    Response . Take it to God ( you cant hide it from him anyway ). The only way God acts is when we talk to him in prayer ! If we dont ask the questions he will not be able to answer you !

    3. When you have offered to do something for God ( ie. in church, Youth fellowship , youth club or s.u. ) then you think that it wasnt a great idea !
    Response. Just do it anyway ! If you put yourself out for God the more he will give you back. It's easy to be a christian when it suits us but God is asking for a little bit more than that.

    4. When you think that you are just not good enough to be a Christian.
    Response. Don't give in to satan because only he tells us that we are not good enough for God. Just because he rebelled and lost his way doesnt mean we have to listen. THE NEXT TIME THE DEVIL REMINDS YOU ABOUT YOUR PAST REMIND HIM ABOUT HIS FUTURE.

    5. If you dont think that you can give your all for God and dont want to be a Hypocrite.
    Response. The same as number 4 it is the devil telling you that !

    Too sum all of that up. In God's eyes you are unique he Loves you with an unconditional love. You are as worthy to him as anyone else and nobody is any better in his eyes. We as human beings tend to put people up on a pedestal and then when they let us down we feel great disapointment and disillusion. Instead if we try to be God pleasers and not man pleasers then our lives will be a reflection of that love that Christ died for.
    Please if you ever need to talk to someone then do it ! Do not let things eat away at you . Get things out and ask someone you trust or respect and i am sure they will be able to guide you in the situation you are in.       I used to be really particular about Christmas lights like not liking the white ones because they were too plain, but when the Lord showed me this my perspective changed.

      When I see the YELLOW lights, I remember the star which shown above the manger in Bethelem when Christ was born.

      When I see the RED lights, they remind me of the blood that Jesus shed for my sins and yours.

      When I see the BLUE lights, I am reminded of the bruises that Jesus bored for our iniquities.

      When I see the GREEN lights, I think of the new green grass of spring which symbolizes the newness of life which Christ gives us.

      When I see the brilliantWHITE lights, they remind me of the purity that we recieve through the cleansing of the blood of Christ.
