Reflections of a year in DCU, mainly Drama it seems
Things I’ve learned in an insanely fun year, from Drama and my course:
From Physics:
1)It gets into your head.
2)Barry must marry Alanna, just to bring the name Cherry-Bucket-Cannon into existence.
3)Potatoes make perfectly acceptable asteroids.
4)Dave Arkins is unimpressed at the size of the universe.
5)Vince Ruddy is full of odd stories.
6)These stories inspired Conor and Adrian to create the Ruddy 500.
7)I still hate labs.
From Drama(quite a difference!):
1)Starting a night in NYC with an appletini will result in being trapped in a lift.
2)Don’t let Fiona near the lift controls when drunk.
3)Watching Susan Doyle become progressively more American over a week is hilarious.
4)Sean Kennedy apparently had great sexual relations with his sister.
5)Steve Grimes is very fond of the word “GUYS!”.
6)Barry doesn’t know how to dip a woman.
7)Damian does.
Playing Who Wants To Live Forever during Fame rehearsals will cause several people to stop in their tracks.
9)Dave Leon is living in the wrong decade.
10)People From Roscrea have voices that pierce the soul.
11)The best things in life are passable by one man abreast and a horse not at all.
12)Pantos can be saved by sleep deprivation and pizza.
13)Jodi’s Scottish accent is manlier than anyone else could dare to achieve.
14)Any party with DCU Drama will result in Wicked being played.
15)If Stevi is at said party, Mabel’s Prayer will also make an appearance.
16)The best clouds are made by people carrying pillows.
17)Celebrating a BICS win in a bar will cause people to question your sanity.
1 Hugs from Dave Grimes hurt.
19)Niamh’s witch laugh is amazing...and terrifying.
20)DADA’s make everyone emotional , even first years.
21)The best set ever made looked like it was put up and painted in 3 hours.
22)DCU Drama shouldn’t use swords...too flimsy.
23)John Cannon is a magnet for lawsuits.
24)Musical theatre is actually amazing.
25)As is New York with 40 other Drama-heads.
26)This new committee has some damn big shoes to fill...and we’ll do it too!
27)DCU Drama will take over your life.
2 You won’t mind at all.
29)For once, I can’t wait for summer to end.
God it’s been a truly amazing five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes

DCU DRAMA51 tygodni temuHey Adam!
Snowfinger, Monday to Wednesday, The Venue, Tickets €6 (€1 of each goes to the SVP), Doors open at 7:30
Its here the biggest event in semester 1 are you all excited? I know I am. The story is loosely based on that of snow white (pale chick, loves midgets, hates apples etc) but this version has a dash James Bond shaken, not stirred into the mix (you think that pun was bad, the script has hundreds more), and when you put the two together you end up with some hilarious results. Rife with filthy jokes, innuendos and bad language, this isn't a panto that you're gonna wanna bring your Nan to see. Think Snow White just replace the dwarfs with secret agents (including a welsh transvestite called Becky) and the King and Queen with Texan hillbillies, add a glamorous witch, a mouthy scouser some cheese cheese and more cheese - and walla! Its this years Panto Snowfinger!
