- Moozak
- Downloaded country gospel this morning. Always lifts my spirits when I hear it. Lots of Loretta Lynn and George Jones and Kitti Wells. RIP, Uncle.
- Movies
- Note: "Taken" is the best movie I've seen in a long time! Also recommending Benjamin Button, with Yummy Bradd Pitt! I love fricken scary movies, especially watching them with my girlfreinds! I can't turn down a good sci-fi, but I hate B movies. I would like to watch some drama and chick flicks in 09, cuz it seems I missed some good ones in 08. P.S. I love you, anyone? And, I always like the old stuff, like Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Footloose (that's actually kind of crappy once you rewatch it, lol), Top Gun. And my favorite movie is True Lies, with Ahnold.
- About me:
- Ex-dog owner.
I love my son.
Love to draw. Love the arts. Never minded classical music, especially Pachelbel. Love my family, especially my Nanny and my Blaise Riley and my Tye Tye. Like to travel, just don't have the money. Want to learn to cook better cuz people are just so happy when you cook them something yummy! Can bake cheesecakes, ice cakes, make cupcakes and muffins. Sometimes I try to walk with Nancy but I'm better at making excuses. Love to shop! Love shoes. Love "options" in regards to clothing, earrings, hairstyles, books, magazines, chocolate, travel destinations, etc. Love to make people laugh and to laugh with them. Life is too short not to laugh. and if something happens, hey, life is an adventure!
- cakes I have decorated:
- Flower cake. Figure skater cake. Heart bridal shower cake. Elmo. Twice. (Trav's 1st and 2nd birthdays) Batman. Firetruck. 3-D car. Rice Krispie snake. 3-D skateboard. Skateboarder on regular cake. Shrek. Butterfly. Holly Hobbie. Treasure chest. Pokemon. Blue's Clues. Dora. Grad cake. Naked men. Naked women. (for birthday parties...some ppl are crazy, lol.) Anniversary cakes. Bible cake. Book cake. "Home is Where the Heart is" cake. Heart cakes. 3-D hockey player and 3-D baby cake. Never done a wedding cake in my life, but that doesn't mean I might not try!
- I like to play
- board games like Sorry, Pictionary, Madgab and Guesstures. The #1 game is Catchphrase. Michelle, Robin and Holly Allie totally got me into Ten Thousand, which is a dice game. I'm a fluke therefore I win!
Looking forward to playing Frustration with the ladeez this weekend. - Bridesmaid of the Year
- I have been a bridesmaid twice and Maid of Honor coming on 3 times now! I loved it and take it as a deep special honour right to my heart. Luv ya gals! The weddings were for Jr. and Wanda, Terrilee and Pat (still just like honeymooners, uninga), Sally and Richard (I LUV laughing with this woman!!!) and Robin and Holly, my brother and my new sis. And the latest, my cuz Des and his luff Sarah...and guess what, they met thru lil ol me!
- My faves:
- A&W Root Beer. Jude Deveraux is my fave author. I like to watch Jon and Kate + 8. I love makeup and fixing hair for ppl. I love to read. Like to sit around and laff and play dumb games. Love my son and my nephews the mostest.

More on AC/DC
So, I mentioned it rained. But hey, the lightning just added to the show. And who could hear the thunder over the speakers?
It was like they ordered the weather. As for playing ALL the hits, no, they did not. My brother sorely missed "Money Talks", and I personally wanted to hear "Ride On" or "Rock N Roll Aint' Noise Pollution". We did hear a whole whack of their hits though. I sang along to "Oi, Oi, Oi" on the ol' standard TNT, and the entire arena was singing along to Thunderstruck. Who in the NWT doesn't know the lyrics to that anthem, I ask you...who?
I gotta say, them ol' Zoo memories came flooding back, especially of Roy K givin' her air guitaring his leg Angus-Young style across that ol dance floor! The parking sucked too. We took a cab. Should have taken 5 minutes. Was a 30 min wait, then a 20 min ride. Along the way, you could see "Parking" signs...first for $15, then $25, then getting higher the closer you got to the stadium. And the line-ups...I never want to be in a line up again for a very very long time. But I gotta say, my life is now complete. I have seen AC/DC live in concert, along with my other fave George Jones - - I can die in peace. (Joking. But like I always say, I want to die in my sleep peacefully, while everyone else in the car I'm driving is screaming their heads off...But, I digress.) And, the question is, WHAT RAIN?
The band played on and sure gave a show. I dunno if the lead singer Brian's singing and timing was a little off. Trav seemed to think so, but I chose to be oblivious. His gravelly voice was pure honey to this fan. And Angus. What can you say? This guy is nuts. He would so fit in at the parties back home! For 53, this guy can rock. Oh, and play guitar. He'll probably still be head-bobbing with the open mouth and guitar strapped on at age 93, 'givin' the dog a bone', as the song goes. Man, I used to listen to my AC/DC casettes on my Walkman the ol' man brought back directlyfrom Japan 25 years back or so. (Wait a minute. Am I aging myself here?) So you know - the walkman was the size of a brick, and just as heavy. For my heavy rockin' baby...saweet.
LOL They sold these blinking devil horns and like every 2nd fan had a set. Hell I had a set and so did Trav. So imagine the crowd, a sea of a thousand blinking red lights, twinkling in the storm. Or whatever. Was effin deadly looking anyway. And hey, did I mention I'm so glad Angus never fell off the catwalk and hurt himself, a la another aging rocker, namely, Steve Tyler of the Aerosmith Big-Ass Lip fame, who just recently tried to rock out on the catwalk and fell off and broke his shoulder? That's what you get for trynna hop around at 62. But dammit, when I'm 62, better have an ambulance nearby, cuz I'll still be playing AC/DC, saying once upon a time, they shook me all night long, baby!

...And, Yes, AC/DC rocked...
Wow. Whadda night. Sixty Thousand crazed - nay, RABID fans, sold out AC/DC concert. Lineups to park, get in, get a beer, buy a t-shirt. Me, Robin and Travis went to our seats. Row 81; as in, 81 fricken rows UP from the ground. OMG if I was in denial about being out of shape, I ain't now. Lots of stairs! I tried to wait in line for a concert tee, but decided to wait. Then our seat mate said they might sell out, so I said I would wait in line. And I waited 40 min in line, and a buddy said there's no line in the sales outside. So I stepped out of line - bad idea. Not allowed outside, so I went thru the smoking area - koff koff - and waited another 40 min for the chance to buy. I almost left so many times, but I'll never get a chance to get another ACDC concert tee, so I waited and got as much as the $ in my wallet would allow. Then I went back to my seat to watch the fricken awesome concert! OMG they did not disappoint! Angus Young was in the fricken ZONE. Wicked guitar player. I swear, his fingers had to be bleeding after his wicked 20 minute solo. They did all the fricken goodies: Back in Black. Dirty Deeds (my favorite acdc song), For Those About to Rock, Black Ice. Of course the crowd went wild for Thunderstuck. Hey, I would have to, if it wasn't for this woman fan's big a** in my fricken way. I was just getting cranky - remember, I was in line for an hour already - and THEEEE acdc anthem is playing, and i'm craning my neck.... grrr! I let it pass, though, cuz man - I WAS AT ACDC!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and don't forget...about...the...RAIN.
The stadium had no roof, so I was soaked thru 2 jackets, my new jeans bled all over, new shoes soaked - but worth it. i guess the other 60 000 fans agreed too, cuz hardly anyone left. Lots of thunder and lightning, which only added to the show. So it rained thru about 3/4 of it. But it was awesome! I am so going again if I get the chance. I thought for sure one of them was going to slip or get electrocuted on stage, especially during Highway to Hell! LOL. We left during the last song, For Those About To Rock, and walked all the way back to Kingsway. Only took maybe 20 minutes. Geez, took me longer to get a fricken concert t-shirt!
So all in all, man....MY NIGHT ROCKED. just thot i'd share. Cheers! - tlg, who has just been THUNDERSTRUCK.

Just a few more days
So, FYI. My sidekick Athena and I will be holding a garage sale this Saturday at 67 Alder at 10 am. She just got beautiful brand new Ikea cupboards, and in the process, she got rid of 5 boxes of stuff, including lots of shelving, etc. I figure since I'm going to buy new clothes in Edm, I better get rid of some stuff in my stuffed closet, plus junk. (Hey, I watched Hoarding on A&E. I don't have no hoarding OCD. I think.) OMG that is my newest favorite show! Like a train wreck - - can't look away! OMG. This woman, Jill, had 2000 lbs of rotting food strewn throughout her house and in her fridges and freezers...2 yr old eggs, laying in rotten meat juices, amongst other bacteria-laden things, not to mention the two liquified pumpkins decomposing in the living room! OMG! I got a hold of a cracked website that sure had me busting a gut today. You know I ice cakes, and my Mahlena-goh wants a Hannah Montana cake. It's pretty short notice cuz I kinda just get back right before her bday, so I googled Hannah Montana cakes. (Okay, I googled "Easy Hannah Montana cakes"...) Anyhoo, I found www.cakewrecks.com. Its a blog about cakes done wrong by professional cake makers, like the ones at Safeway and that. Horrible! One said "Happy Briday". Like, how wrong can you make it? Another one had words iced in writing "Goodbye, Julie, plus a tip if you get it there by 12" written right on the cake. Duh. Idiots. They live amongst us! The horrors, the horrors. I'm excited about having a sale, plus I'm gonna give $10k bing another shot. Donate again ah. You know why it's not working? I'm not jigging when I'm close. I heard that gets you close. (Tried it.) And I'm not getting my bingo cards early. (But I tried that too.) Or super late. (Check.) Or tried talking lots. Or not enough. Just what is the trick? I should ask the five winners that are gonna win that 10k, ah.
Got to say congrats to my cuz Maribeth on her wedding. Super pics, girlfreind! I heard from many it was a blast. I really missed out. I am leaving to Edm and really didn't have the moolah to shell out for a plane ticket one week before Edm. Sorry! I did wish you and your hunny all the best though. Oh, and sorry I missed your bridal shower too...I was waiting for the jigging contest. You know, the one that started at 3:00 am. Speaking of jigging, there's a squaredance this Friday and I want to go blast a hole in my slippers.
So. Edm time is coming. I'm a teensy bit excited, but what's causing me the most anxiety is my car rental! Alliiii! I rented a Toyota Matrix for $28/day plus a GPS for $11/day. I refuse to take the car unless it has a GPS. And I'm only driving before 5 am and after 8:30 pm. Ayy. But no, I'm gonna drive in the slow, careful, super-cautious lane. If there's one. And I'm going to have my Travey with me too! "No talking. No radio. Watch for other trucks. Is anyone coming? Am I clear?" Can you imagine...this will be his summer holiday from hell. On top of me dragging him to every mall and woman's store around. Oh I'll pacify him with a movie and some over-priced trendy mall clothes.
So. 2 things here: see ya at the sale and wish me luck while I drive down south!
Akalleeyuna. And, if anything should happen, friends...well, you'll read all about it right here!
Cheers! - tlg
