Strewth mate
The unthinkable has happened. After years of coming within inches of certain death by toying with various lions, tigers, sharks, killer reptiles and man-eating gorilla's, the legendary crocodile hunter Steve Irwin has been sent to the giant wildlife reserve in the sky after being killed by a fish. It's always the ones you least expect eh? Well, it was actually a stingray, but still....you'd have thought he would have been prepared to face this particular adversary. My disappointment is only surpassed by my newly developed fear of stingrays. If Steve Irwin isn't safe from them, who is? Is nobody else concerned?3 commentaires 1177 jours

Insects, immigrants and pizza
Attacked by some weird flying insect on the metro going to work this morning. My fellow passengers stared at me like I was some sort of a maniac as I was flapping around trying to prevent it from landing on my face. Put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day...bah.
On a lighter note, migration fever has hit the UK! The home office has published figures showing that over 427,000 migrant workers from the new member states have come to the UK since 2004. Therefore creating a better life for themselves, while simultaneously bolstering the British economy! Everyone's a winner! Hooray!
My daily horoscope says: On the job, you must pace yourself today. Don't do things in a hurried manner. Going out for fun is better than staying in. Why not catch a movie or dine at a favorite restaurant!
So I've decided to put my fate in the hands of the stars and take it easy. No point rushing that important assignment. Also might leave the office early to hit the cinema or pay a visit to Pizza Hut for a Pepperoni Lovers special. Mmmm...0 commentaires 1190 jours

Time Up
I've stopped wearing a wristwatch. Initially because it was irritating a mosquito bitemark on my wrist, but now I find the absence of a watch strangely liberating. After an initial "phasing-in" period of constantly looking at my naked wrist, I've adjusted to this new watch-less persona and no longer feel like a prisoner of time. Hoorah!
Word of the Day:expiate - to make amends for; to atone for.
Example: Through his charitable donations to the "Bill Gates fund", Bill Gates futiley attempts to expiate his illegal business practices and crimes against humanity.

Just read your comment on my wee blog thing... if I didn't know for sure that the weather in Brussels would be worse than the weather in the west of Scotland, then I might take you up on that!!!
When are your next gigs by the way? It's going to be an incredibly hectic few months til May, but I'd love to squeeze in a wee beer/waffle weekend in Bxl! Mmmmmm.... waffles... peachy beer... I'm going to have to stop now as my keyboard is all wet and drooly!

Thanks very much, I appreciate the good wishes. I'll be going to Brel, a Belgian restaurant up the road for my tea with Joe and my folks (yes, the cosmoplitan city of Glasgow even has room for Belgian cuisine!).

When I was in Brussels I took over about 10 pairs, and the Belgians wouldn't let me wear them. Damn cobbles...
