- Over the past few years the UCD/Charlie Donnelly branch has been at the forefront of student activism. It has been active on opposing the re-introduction of tuition fees and challenging the college authorities on issues that effect students and our neighbours. UCD Labour has also been involved in key national and international issues such as lobbying for a fairer healthcare system, equal access to education, the preservation of civil liberties, anti war, anti deportations and global trade justice. Labour Youth as an activist organisation seeks to create an Ireland based on the democratic socialist principles of solidarity, equality and social justice . Labour Youth has also been highly active with regards climate change and other environmental issues. The Labour Party is offering a €500 prize for the best 1 minute webcast/video promoting a Yes vote in the forthcoming referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
The competition is open to all students in all Second and Third Level Educational Institutions.

The Labour Party may feature the winning entry on its web-site and on any political broadcast time allocated to it by RTE.
