    • My letter from the police

      It has come to our attention that your son, Jacob Daniel Trotter, has been spoken to by a Police Officer at Harbour Square, Londonderry, on Friday 4th July 2008 at 10:35pm. The circumstances are as follows:

      Police Officers, engaged in an operation developed to tackle the issues of crime and disorder caused by underage drinking in public places, stopped and spoke to a male person observed to be in possession of alcohol, at Harbour Square, Londonderry. This area is a designated 'No Alcohol Zone' under the Derry City Council byelaws. This person identified himself as Jacob Daniel Trotter, DOB 06/02/91 of 19 Glenside Rd, Londonderry, a pupil at Oakgrove College. Jacob has in his posession, a can of Carlsberg lager. He further admitted to having consumed two beers prior to being stopped. The alcohol was surrendered to police and disposed of in accordance with police guidelines. Jacob was informed that the matter would be reported.

      As the Youth Diversion Officer for the Foyle Area, I believe that it is important that the above information is brought to your attention. It should be noted that this occurence will be recorded at this office for a period of one year from the date of offence. Should you require any further information, or assisstance, please feel free to contact me at the telephone number listed below.
