      some things are mainly amazing, some things are quite quite shit, but we deal and we move on I guess.

    • Inspirations

      I've been inspired.

      Whilst playing a game of balderdash, affectionately known as "bladderdasher", I stumbled upon a most remarkable fact.
      Under the name category I found the somewhat interesting name of "Anthony Distasio".

      Now, the aim of balderdash in the name category is to make your best guess as to what the person of this name could possibly be famous for. These guesses are then submitted anonymously, and read aloud along with the real answer. The players must then guess which they believe is the real answer.
      Some of the guesses included that:

      Anthony Distasio:

      "was the man who designed the US $1 Bill"

      "was the record holder for saying the alphabet backwards with the largest amount of M&M's in his mouth"

      "Wrote the less popular sequel to the famous novel of a similar name 'MEN are in fact from venus and WOMEN are from mars'"

      and the somewhat less creative

      "played the piano".


      None of these however, held a candle to the real answer.

      Anthony Distasio was in fact famous for having, and I quote, "saved his own life by body surfing on a wave of molasses during thefamous boston molasses flood in 1919".

    • So I'm Back On The Blogging Scene...

      I have something to say. And that something is:


      You know what really grinds my gears? (other than your mum) and before you say a lack of axle grease that question was RHETORICAL!

      Anyway.

      The Flu. That's what gets my goat. What is it all about? Well. The typical life of an Influenza (does that sound like a Spanish name to you too?) sufferer begins with waking up. Normally this would be a run of the mill experience, but once those tiny little viral militants let loose, waking up often feels as though it was directly proceeded by three swift blows to the skull with a heavy blunt object, and the remainder of the body being dragged backwards underneath the wheels of a moving XPT service.

      It doesn't end there either. The pain is one thing, the lack of any ability to communicate is another. Oh yes, the clever little flu begins its campaign of war by torturing and crippling the body so there is no hope of escape while it first sets up its' military base. It then proceeds to attack your voice - the primary method of human communication besides body language - therefore deadening "radio contact" with the outside world for your bodies' defenders. So, as it methodically crushes your feeble and unsuspecting defenders, we must not forget that it also tries its hardest to repel any sort of help. It creates several signs and symptoms in your body to discourage the company of other human beings, and therefore cuts you off from any sort of emotional support - effectively placing you in the equivalent of a modern day prison cell defined as "solitary confinement". It does this by creating torrents and torrents of mucous-like substance, which it then proceeds to send forth in copious amounts from the nose, mouth, eyes... hell, if it could figure out a way, I'm sure it'd use the ears and all SORTS of other orifices too... We can only thank whatever higher power or greater happenstance we choose that it has thus far failed to do so. It then creates a disgusting sounding cough and a red puffiness to the eyes. A tired and careworn expression is the final straw.

      Humans and viruses... if only we could figure out a way to cooperate, we'd open a whole new world of doors. If we just learned to embrace our viral brothers... sisters... um... things, we could create a world of hamony.
