- Rage Against the Machine, also known as RATM, is an American metal band noted both for their diligent political conscience and for their pioneering blend of hard rock and rap (which over time would come to be known variously as rock, rap core, hard rock, funk metal and alternative rock or alternative metal), as well as their vocal radical leftist beliefs.
At the point of their break-up in 2000, Rage Against the Machine had become one of the most popular political hard rock bands of all time, and certainly of the 1990s. They released four albums throughout the 90s. Their four albums (Rage Against the Machine 1992, Evil Empire 1996, The Battle of Los Angeles 1999 and Renegades 2000) gave them major success throughout the world with their political outtake. They have numerous references from other musicians to movies and even games and also have done numerous protests for social activism, native American rights and against capitalism. RAGE ARE BACK
as reported by the l.a times rage will reunite to headline the Cochella Arts and Music festival in America it is clear that they will stay reunited after the festival and ratm will play 3 other concerts with the Wu-Tang Clan in San Francisco, New York and Southern Califorina but these are the only concerts this year that RATM will play.This also means that rage against the machine will stay reunited after 2007.
