- Billy Underwood age 22 from fife well i have been loving music from a young age as my brother is a singer, i looked into playing guitar first at 11 years old got my first guitar and at 15 me and my bro played all over scotland as a acoustic dueo ( stealth ) me playing guitar and singing backing vocals. Liverpool tour
The 'Easyboys Tour' 26-28th October 2006
First and foremost, a massive thanks to all you good good double good people who attended our first tour! It was a huge success and the band loved every minute of it. Despite what many people think, the tour was not dubbed the 'easyboys tour' for any reason other than the fact we used to say it in 'seabass'. Now that we've cleared that up, we'll get on with the blow by blow account of the trip.
Day 1
26/10/06: 11am
Most of us met up The Shed in order to plan the days trip ahead, Dunfermline to Liverpool. Before we left we needed to finish off the home made fliers, get a couple beers in, print off the directions, load the bus and decide who was sitting where. Burke drove.
12pm
We got on our way, the directions were printed off and the bus was loaded. On our way down the back road to Cairneyhill, didn't pick up the directions. Ah well, we'll wing it.
12.05pm
First stop of the day, Cairneyhill (It was to be a long trip)
12.20pm
Second stop, Kincardine service station- diesel in the weezel.
12.25pm
We were on our way proper, nothing was gonna stop us. Except maybe the odd piss stop.
Between 12.25pm & 6.30pm
The estimated journey of four and a half hours ended up as just over six and a half. This was due to several (about 12) piss stops & 3 burger king stops. It might've been longer had it not been for someone takin it for the team and pissing out the window on the move: Only when it was raining mind you.
We got to the travel lodge, everyone else checked in while we went for a sound check at The Cavern. It was a nice little walk through the town centre with our guitars on our backs and amps in hands. The sound engineer was a bit of a nob when we got there but he did a job so were in and out in no time, back to the hotel to freshen up.
19.45ish
Got sorted into our rooms had a shower etc etc and met up the rest of them, party time! Miller cracked open a bottle of Moet to celebrate the name, tour and fresh start. It went down a treat!
20.30ish
Headed along to the venue for a few swift ones before our set, and find out the crack for the night. There were 4 bands on before us, all a bit shite, and a pretty decent beatles tribute band on the main stage. We watched them, had a bounce and got ourselves in the mood.
23.00ish
We went on about 11ish, the headline slot. A bit worse for wear, we decided to just tear it up! Everyone was up for it, no holds barred ,bouncin, jumpin and dancin. Canni whack it. After about the third tune, maybe 'The Happy Man' folk started taking there shoes off. Can't exactly remember why. There was maybe the request of a naked bounce, resulting in about 20 pairs of shoes being launched onto the stage. Happy Days! Not just shoes tho, shirts, belts, bags (Sorry Jenny), no money right enough. Pish. It was a quality gig though. Made all the better by the fact that everyone got involved. After the set we had a couple more drinks in the pub then went to a couple clubs.
'Flares' was a bit of a dive. Miller bought more champagne in 'Metro' and got pied by a couple girls, Albo goaded him into it. After that, me and Gator paid silly money at stupid o'clock to get into an even worse club than 'Flares', so it was back to the hotel for a bounce. A tramp was asleep on the bonnet of the bus. The deal was, he could stay there as long as he bought a ticket for the car park before 8am. He didn't and we got hit with a £60 fine.
Miller's room's were the party rooms for the weekend so we all piled in for some night caps. Faithless was on the i pod, beers were cold, half pounders with cheese & chips and mayonnaise were readily available so it was a good night. Jimmy Jewel was in good form, buckfastastic. Burke celebrated to the hilt, no way he was gonna spew! Gator had a couple good ideas that nobody paid any attention to. And Shorty was gonna get it, apparently.
