For everyne who have been worried...yesterday as u know was a premiere of Equus in London`s West End!!The rewievs are all VERY VERY positive and it looks like the play will be a hit!
Dan was brilliant said the theatregoers who saw Equus yesterday.And ppl, he got a STANDING OVATION!!Someone said that quite a few people were crying at the end and throughout standing ovation!!

      EXLUSIVE;Daniel Radcliffe to play Alan Strang in stage play Equus


      It has been confirmed that Daniel will be playing a role in the play Equus. Rehersals for the play begin in January of 2007. It is assumed that performances will begin in the Spring of 2007. Tickets are not available yet.

      Here is what Dan says about his new role.

      "I'm really excited to be part of this production and thrilled to be working with Richard Griffiths again. This is obviously a huge departure for me as an actor, but Equus is such an amazing play that this really was an opportunity not to be missed.</I>

      Rehearsal starts in January and I am very much looking forward to working with Thea Sharock who is an incredibly talented director. I only hope I do the role justice."

      Peter Shaffer's Equus first premiered in 1973 in London, England and won a multitude of awards. Equus focuses on the relationship between seventeen-year-old Alan Strang (Radcliffe), who has blinded six horses with a spike, and Martin Dysart (Griffiths), a middle-aged psychiatrist who tries to figure out what drove Strang to commit the crime.

      "All the other actors who have ever played the part have done that, so for me not to do it wouldn't really be playing the part. It would be a watered down version. It wouldn't be the same. I'll be incredibly nervous, but I think 'It's in the script; it's got to be done.' I'm terrified, but excited."



      EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Radcliffe to star in My Boy Jack ITV drama


      Daniel will be starring in an upcoming ITV drama entitled, My Boy Jack. The show is written by and starring David Haig, based on the true story of Rudyard Kipling and his son Jack who was tragically killed during the first world war. Daniel is set to film the production in the summer of 2007.

      Daniel said,

      "For many people my age, the first world war is just a topic in a history book. But, I’ve always been fascinated by the subject and think its as relevant today as it ever was with young men all over the world still sacrificing their lives in the name of war.

      I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like in the trenches, living amongst the stench of death and knowing that at any moment it may be your last. But, I think its important we try to imagine the horrors these young men experienced and to never forget them.

      I am extremely proud to be part of the production of My Boy Jack and only hope I can do justice to the memory of the men who fought and those who died."
