quick biography Steven Patrick Morrissey was born on the 22nd of may in nineteen fifty nine in stretford manchester.
known in his early years as an odd outsider who went to punk gigs and was an obsessive writer into the letters section in nme about the new york dolls, he was even president of their uk fan club.Then in 1982 morrissey formed the Smiths with talented guitarist Johnny Marr the rest of the band were mike joyce (drummer) and Andy Rourke (bass).The Smiths were one of the most influential bands of the 80s They released there first album "the smiths" in 1984,the Smiths broke up in 1987 because of personal differences between johnny marr and morrissey. after the smiths Morrissey has had a succesful solo career that is still going strong.

Johnny marr has joined Modest Mouse.
We’ve known for a while that Modest Mouse leader Isaac Brock and former Smiths guitarist/genius Johnny Marr were collaborating on MM’s next record. But guess what? Marr is now officially a full-on member of Modest Mouse, Brock recently told us. According to Brock, Marr’s membership is so unequivocal, he will tour with MM in support of their next record, tentatively titled We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank and tentatively due this fall. “He made a cautious commitment to write and record with us, and then the tighter we got, he was like, ‘okay, let’s tour too,’” Brock said. “Then he was pretty much a member of the band - not pretty much. He’s a full blown member of the band. It’s really fuckin’ nice.”
Some backstory: When it came time to start work on the follow-up to 2004’s indie-rock marvel Good News for People Who Love Bad News, Brock found himself sans guitarist and enlisted Marr to help write and record. “I took a long shot really,” says Brock. “I was like, ‘You know, I really like that guy’s guitar playing. There’s no chance in hell he’s going to say yes, but why not give him a call?’ So I did.” Maybe Morrissey should borrow Brock’s little black book? “Eventually it all came together, and it was a really good fit, which I think actually surprised all of us,” Brock recalled. Finally, Marr, Brock and co. went down to Sweet Tea studios in Mississippi (the same joint where Good News was recorded) to lay down tracks for We Were Dead, which Brock describes as a nautical balalaika carnival romp. So what’s the gist? Get ready to have your mind blown by Modest Marr’s crazy-dark sailors-and-gypsies whimsy.

Sanctuary Records have announced the following information:
The third single from Ringleader Of The Tormentors - "In The Future When All's Well" - will be released on August 21st in the U.K. The new single will be available in the U.K. on 7" vinyl, Mini CD, Maxi CD, and digital bundle.
The 7" vinyl and Mini CD single formats will feature a new studio recording of "Christian Dior." The Maxi CD single will feature "I'll Never Be Anybody's Hero Now" and "To Me You Are A Work Of Art" - both live from the London Palladium - plus a video for "In The Future When All's Well."
"In The Future When All's Well" will also be available as a very special V Festival live download. When Morrissey headlines at the V Festival (Stafford, August 19th; Chelmsford, August 20th), audience members will be able to order the live version of the single as they watch and listen to Morrissey singing it.
