I saw the news, I've read the lines, I've seen it for myself.

I did not know of this injustice untill I saw Joanna Lumley on Al Murray three weeks ago, and then, to my complete and utter shame, it went to the back of my mind untill my Dad mentioned that he had recieved an email from his Navy oppo Mik Sheffield...

You may or may not know this, but The Gurkhas are a troop of soldiers from Nepal, but they fight as part of the British Army for our country. They have served all in colficts all over the world, defending our country for nearly two hundred years. Over forty five thousand Gurkhas died in the two world wars alone, let alone the many conflicts that have gone on before & since then (Britain has been at war since 1066) defending our country. They are not conscripted, it is a choice. They choose to fight for our country. These brave men risk (and lose) their lives for us and our country. They are the best in the world. They are probably the only regiment in the world that could sneak up behind an SAS soldier and put a knife to his throat. Our SAS soldiers can clean and strip their weapon in the dark with minimal noise. These guys can do it blindfold with no noise. And without them, we would not have the military strength that we do. And yet, they get no regognition... How do we thank them?

Some stupid, fucked up UK Government Law does not permit them to reside in this country, despite the fact that each and every Gurkha is committed to risking life and limb for our country. As I said, the Gurkha's are the best in the world. They could fight for any country, including their own, but instead, they fight for us.
I find it shocking, appauling, disgusting and an extreme injustice that they are not allowed to live in the country that they work so hard to defend. They have given their lives to us, the least we can do is let them live here.

Jonanna Lumley has started a campaign to change the law so these special men can live here, in the United Kingdom, the country they have faught, and are fighting for. The campaign is not to ammend the law, but to change it, to give the Gurhka's the same rights as their UK & commonwealth conterparts, the right to live here, the right to war and state pensions & other benifits, the right to vote, the right to work, the right to medical care and so many other rights we British & Commonwealth Nationals and British & Commonwealth Citizens who haven't faught take for granted.

As most of you who know me will realise, this is a cause very close to my heart, as not only do I intend to fight for our country myself and have a great deal of respect for anyone that does, and my father has worked along side the Gurkhas, and I am sure one or two have saved his life, and others.

Me, my father, any other service family, all the Gurkhas, and anyone who gives a shit about justice will appreciate it if you could take two minutes out of your day to sign it.
Every name makes a difference.
Joanna Lumley's father served 30 years with the Gurkhas, and she will not stop at this petition. Her and the other capaigners will take things further if necessary.
