Haunted (By Memories)
Ever since starting to write music 3 years ago, I've wondered about adding my own touch to an existing song and making it my own. I may have done that now -- or if not, had tons of fun trying.
Listen to my new song Haunted (By Memories) and see if you can recognize the song its based on. If you need help, watch the videos I've added to my page.
I'm so amused by this tune that I tossed it online right after I finished it. Its a one day piece -- usually songs take a few weeks of on and off work to complete. And usually when I'm enthusiastic about a song I just wrote, a listen the next day usually leads me to exclaim "what was I thinking?"
That might be my reaction to this song tomorrow -- but I hope you enjoy it now, even if it may yet turn out to be an unfinished work or, ultimately, a failed experiment. You will find the song on the song list of the Green Desire album.
Listening to Haunted right now, I'm hearing the Golden Palominos (voice), Andre Vollenweider (harp), the Beach Boys (choir) and the Turtles. The first band is the only one I'd choose to listen to, but I don't mind hearing the sound of the others mashed up in this song.

Choosing My Way
We all have trials and troubles we face, of varying degrees of difficulty and with varying degrees of success. At times, no trouble is too small to overwhelm us. Grief is said to be like a gas that expands to take up all the space we allow it to take. However, no trouble is too big to overcome.
Consider those in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany. Can we imagine a worse circumstance? Yet, Viktor Frankl writes:
"We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."

The Bottom Ten: Syntropia
I've created a new playlist of some of the best but most neglected songs from the Syntropia project. You can find it on my personal page.
"Redemption", for example, is one of my favorite songs...but not its not being picked for any playlists. Give these a listen. Maybe you will find some music you'll like.0 Comments 1009 days
