- I set up this site so that triathletes could meet triathletes and get in contact with each other in a non-obtrusive way. So that if you ever need to make contact or need help, you can contact someone in the group to help one another out! hopefully i will be able to set up polls and if you have any ideas just leave a comment.
Also, posted this profile as a means of communication between alot of the athletes I've seen on this bebo website. Thought it might be an idea to establish links and get to know different athletes around the country and abroad. Catch up with some past competitors and reflect on the good old days.
Maybe get some discussion on some issues in triathlon that you feel strongly about.
please leave a comment and introduce yourself
- you know your a triathlete when
- ... somebody hands you a cup of water and you have to restrain yourself from pouring it on your head.
…you own your car and make payments on your bike.
…You ride your bike to the start of a local 10k race.
…your nightmares are always the same: You are in an endless transition area, unable to find your bike (T1), or having left your running shoes back in the car (T2).
…when staying at a hotel you have been known to scale the fence of the closed pool and swim laps very early in the morning.
…there's such a thing as an "easy" hour swim, an "easy" three-hour ride, and an "easy" 10-mile run.
…
…your wife tries to introduce you to your three children and you reply "Three?"
…you get more phone calls at 6:00 AM than at 6:00 PM.
…you postpone your wedding because it will interfere with your training
…when racing an ironman you do more miles racing than your rental car those that weekend. - Sprint Triathlon
- 750 m swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Olympic Distance

- training
- Completing a triathlon and competing in one is a tough pursuit. It is crucial to the sport that we all train our bodies to cope with the physical loading and to hone our skills to make us more efficient and fast. Regular training is crucial for this. Advice on planning training can be found in many good books that are easily found in online book stores such as Amazon. The general macro idea is that the winter months are long slow endurance training, then spring is all about a build phase towards summer training and racing which is generally fast and short. This is a simplistic view but is the general trend.

- Nicos -hace 129 semanasGood initiative!
I surely will be using it from now on as a green green triathlete. (still there is something in my mind saying "you can call yourself a triathlete after succeeding a full triathlon".
Succes with THE sports of all sports,

Gary Millarhace 130 semanasGood stuff, I didn't even know this existed! Good idea, central spot for us tri-nutters to "meet" as it were.
Anyone know any good cycle routes in the Portsmouth area? (I hate being a Scot down south, not very local!) -

Neil Rooneyhace 136 semanasI posted a blog of IM Oz Port Mac Quaire on my page if anyone is interested in doing that race they should read it! I was down there a couple of weeks ago and had a great time and race. It was my first IM and I was happy with the result. If anyone has a good race to recommend I think Dave's page is a good place to do it.
