  • Daily Mirror ITV Pride of Britain Awards!

    Well what can I say?...What an amazing experience!

    Earlier in the day I met Ed Balls, Sarah and Gordon Brown at Number 10 Downing Street (Photos to come) and then this in the evening!...

    Tuesday 30th September- London Television Centre- Daily Mirror ITV Pride of Britain Awards!

    Below are some pics from the night in which over 100 stars were part of. Was a great show and there were some amazing, inspirational people there. Managed to talk to quite a few, and even got Anti-Bullying in there lots! ;p hehe...

  • ITV TEACHER OF THE YEAR!!!

    I did win but then it was taken off me lol... sort of.

    They surprised me on Friday at school and it was set to be announced/shown on ITV Anglia News that Friday night.

    However- I received a phone call from the Editor at Anglia later in the day to say they had checked the rules, which they didn't know existed and you had to be 21 or over to win the award and be a national finalist. (I'm 20).

    Even though- 'Teacher of the Year', part of the ' ITV Daily Mirror- Pride of Britain Awards', covers everything from teachers, teaching assistants to specialists working in schools.

    So lawyers at ITV HQ instructed them that they had no choice but to announce a new winner.

    I was set to be a national finalist appearing in the ‘Daily Mirror Newspaper’, later this month, spending a couple of nights in London at a hotel, attend a Downing Street reception, then be taken to walk the red carpet as a finalist of the ITV ‘Pride of Britain Awards’.

    They didnt manage to go and suprise the new winner. They said on air about the incident...

    ‘Owing to an error in the sifting of entries here at ITV Anglia, Alex was actually ineligible for the competition final because of his age. We’re very sorry for the mistake, but the judges were impressed by his work on an anti-bullying programme and the huge contribution he’s made at Radcliffe School in Wolverton and at his previous school, Kingsbrook College in Deanshanger.’

    They have been in touch lots though and have been really really nice about it!!!
