//Having released their first album 'Boy' in 1980 to '18' in 2006,the band from Dublin are still going strong.Formed in 1976 as the Larry Mullen band,it was Bono(Paul Hewson)as lead vocalist,the Edge(David Evans)as lead guitarist,Larry Mullen as drummer and Adam Clayton as bass guitarist.After that they changed their name to Feedback then The Hype before it became U2 in 1978.Paul mcGuinness also became their manager that year.//

//They recieved worldwide success in 1983 after releasing 'War' and became one of the biggest bands in the world after releasing their classic album 'The Joshua Tree'in 1987and after that,most of there albums became classic albums.//

      U2 3D', the first live action movie ever shot, produced, and exhibited in digital 3-D, is set to open worldwide in late January. National Geographic Cinema Ventures have confirmed the details and we've got the first photos.

      Filmed during the band's Vertigo Tour dates in South America last year, the movie is directed by Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington and will be released in both digital 3-D (REAL D and Dolby) and IMAX theaters from late January 2008.

      "When the reviews came in after our screening at Cannes, we were thrilled," said Owens. "We wanted to use this technology to make viewers feel like they were actually at the concert and sometimes even onstage. The feedback from fans, critics and the industry was phenomenal."

      Owens, a friend of the band since they were teenagers in Dublin, directs visual content when U2 are on tour and directed the 2005 video for Original of the Species. Pellington also goes way back with the band - at the helm for a version of 'One' back in 1992 (featuring artist David Wojnarowicz's buffalo imagery) and helping create to the unique visual vibe of ZOO TV.

      Amazon.com has two video clips taken from the Live in Paris DVD that will be part of the Joshua Tree Deluxe Edition...

      Watch Bono sing Pride properly! See Edge when he had hair! Check out Adam doing the left leg pump! Wonder where the fuck is Larry?! See Bono act like his guitar is plugged in!

      Joshua Tree will be out in the U.S. on November 20, with the exception of the vinyl version which won't be available until December 4th. In Europe, the album isn't released until December 7/10 or thereabouts.
