well, it turns out it wasn't a drugging. I have since seen the CCTV from the club i was in and apparently i was just completely blind drunk. Allow me to begin from the start. Wednesday the 30th January. I went to work, did a ten hour day, at the end of that day i was having a meeting with the companies marketing manager, she was extraordinarily late, so i had two pints. we had our meeting and afterwards i was meeting up with the singaporean gaelic football team, the gaelic lions. just a bit of Irish networking. good customers and all that. so they had their AGM, i stayed out of their business and did as much mingling as possible. mingling of course requires a few pints, that's another three pints right there. After that i went to meet up with Claire Wilson and Bren Lynch who were subsequently passing through Singapore. met up in a place calle '1 night stand' two pints of Stella. off we went to one of the pubs that the company i work for owns. 2 pints of a spiced beer called Samui in very quick succession because the pub was closing. onto the nightclub, Bottle or pint of something, shot that came in syringes. pint of something. met up with som Malay people. bren, claire etc left. i stayed with the malay people, drank some chivas regal and theblank....5 hours later i was in a cab with a taxi man shouting at me to pay him. reach into my wallet, no cash. bag is missing. went home, bed, get up, the investigation begins. Long story short i went to the club, asked them did they have my bag, they said no, they checked the CCTV, turns out i left wth the bag, i visited the local 7/11, asked them had i been there, they said i came in, bought a pack of cigarettes, went outsides, smoked a cigarette, dropped the rest of the pack in a puddle, the guy said he tried to wake me lke five times and i kept sayin "yeah, I'm on me way, I'm on me way". i was out there asleep on the step for an hour and a half. the guy said, when he first went out my bag was on my shoulder, when he finished his shift, the bag had been moved and i was still in the exact same position. so either i got up and didn't notice the bag wasn't on my shoulder and hopped in a cab or it was moved susequently to it being moved away from me. And that's basically it in a nutshell. the bag contained my ipod,irish phone, camera passport, books, medicine and prescriptions... insurance should cover most things. i even thought to back up my phone before i left, so i don't need everyones numbers. So that's my bad experience in singapore, not to worry eh,

What i do need to worry about is the fact that In Singapore the ministry of manpower demands that all workers hold a diploma or higher... my crappy FETAC does not fly over here, so I may have to skidaddle quite soon. my working pass has been applied for but it doesn't look very likely. i Can extend my stay for another two months, but i need a passport to do that. alternatively i could travel to malaysia for three days then have my stay extended...again, i need a passport. both the temporary passport and working pass have been applied for, but the 7th and 8th, everything is closed for chinese new year, so there's bound to be delays. I'm a little bit stuck, I'm not really worried. the irish embassy have said nothing bad will happen, i trust them...

If the working pass doesn't come through i may just piss off somewhere else. I don't really have the cash to go and do some form of fancy travelling around southeast Asia, so I'm thinkin i might just feck off down to Australia, see what's goin on down there... good buzz i believe. Irish accent goes down well with the ladies.

In summary, my trip to Singapore has been fun but quite short lived. I'm not particularly in the mood for 22 hours travelling back west so I'll probably stick around for as long my money dictates. Ya never know, i might still get the working and i might end up staying in Singapore til the end of the year... I'm a murphy's law believer though.
