- Outbreed play a blues-influenced rock and roll with a modern rock edge, ranging from from acoustic and slow blues to hard-hitting blues-rock.
Outbreed are a 4-piece Dublin-based band. The band started off as a 2-piece band known as "Feeding Time", consisting of singer/rhythm guitarist Michael Pearce and lead guitarist Niall Feeney. While playing acoustic gigs around Dublin, the eventual aim was to find the right bassist and drummer to complete the band. In the summer of 2005, the search ended as friend of the band and guitarist Ivan Byrne was asked to play bass, while drummer Gavin O'Sullivan was asked to play drums. After a quick-and-painless name-change, Outbreed was born. Influences within the band vary from the likes of Rory Gallagher and Led Zeppelin to Radiohead and Pink Floyd to Metallica and Queens of the Stone Age (or Picturehouse and James Blunt if you're Gav) and many, more.

New bassist needed
Well, last night Mr Ivan left the band. While it's very unfortunate, long-term it might be for the best as Ivan wasn't enjoying playing the bass anymore. He's really a guitarist and, not just any guitarist, a metal guitarist and, thus, a strange breed. But we wish him all the best in the future! And anyway, short-term we've still got our practice-room set up in his house so he can't get rid of us yet!
But this means we need a new bassist! If you're interested, contact us here or email michael@outbreedmusic.com or, if you know someone who is or might be, let them know!
