Just a couple of many national media reviews mirroring the incredible reaction over the past year to the Cluskey brothers' (Shane, Daniel and Oisin) live shows in major venues throughout Ireland.
The Kanyu Tree's first full year in action also highlighted a top 20 debut single, IMRO Showcase Tour selection, headlining the 3-day Feile Beo Festival, numerous TV / Radio appearances, support slots with The Bluetones, The Stunning and I'm From Barcelona culminating in a 17 gig support tour of the UK with The Saw Doctors playing to capacity crowds in Liverpool's Philharmonic, Manchester's Apollo, London's Shepherd's Bush Empire et al.
2008 saw them headline a sell out show in Whelans, kick of the annual Cois Fharraighe Festival in Kilkee and support The Hold Steady, The Feeling and Ocean Colour Scene on their nationwide tour. Their Second Single "Congratulations" was a Top 40 hit for them in Sept.

Andrew's Lane Theatre, Dublin this Sat the 6th
Hello there friends,
Just an extremely brief message to inform you that we're playing Andrew's Lane Theatre (located just off Dame St on St. Andrew's Lane, funnily enough) in Dublin this Sat the 6th of Dec.
If you can't make our annual Hoedown in the Roisin Dubh on Stephen's Night, this is the gig for you.
Doors are at 9pm and entry will cost you 8 jingle bells.

The story of our single thus far...
Hello again friends.
Firstly, we would like to thank all ye guys for turning out in your droves to the 3 gigs we organised last weekend. We literally could not have done them without ye and we're extremely grateful to have that level of support.
Secondly, for those of you in our Nation's Capital, we would like to apologise for the mess up that occurred in HMV (Grafton St.) Dublin. The single was in the shop Fri morning, next we heard it had vanished Fri evening and finally we heard it was back in but being sold for 1.50 more than we wished. After several phone calls we finally managed to resolve the issue and thankfully the single is now downstairs at the counter and being sold for the correct price of 2.99. If for any reason you cannot find it amongst the millions of CDs in the shop, just ask one of the tellers to check the system for it. For any of you guys that were overcharged, we are sincerely sorry and are currently trying to get some kind of reimbursment sorted for you through HMV.
The Single is now officially available to purchase in Zhivago, HMV (Galway, Cork and Dublin - Grafton St.) for the sum of 2.99.
Finally, for any of ye that cannot make it into any of the above, the easiest way to get a copy of our 2nd Single "Congratulations" is to text "music 1053" (which is the unique Kanyu Code) to 57501 which will cost you 99c (deductable from your credit). You'll be sent back a password and a username (which is yor phone number.) The next step is to go to www.downloadmusic.ie, type in your password & username, press download (the sale will only count once you've pressed download) and "Congratulations" is yours forever. Simple as that!
If using your credit card is easier for you than you can download it from :

2. www.itunes.com
Just type "The Kanyu Tree" into either search engine.
To help us get the highest position possible in the charts, the single needs to be either bought or downloaded (or both!) by Thurs evening.

"Congratulations"
Hello Fellow Beboers
Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties (these things seem to happen alot to us) our 2nd single "Congratulations" will not be released this Friday, May the 23rd as originally planned.
It's a bit of a bummer but we don't want to release anything unless we've given it 100% and due to those damned difficulties we wouldn't be able to give the Song the 100% it deserves.
It's only a temporary set-back and we'll definitely release "Congratulations" at some stage in the near future.
The 2 gigs we had organised to coincide with the release are still most definitely going ahead and we're extremely excited about both. The Village gig on Wed the 28th of May will be our biggest headline in Dublin to date (we thought Whelans was big, this place is huge!) The Roisin Dubh gig this Friday the 23rd will be our 1st headline in our 2nd home this year!
Hopefully we'll see ye at one of them if not both of them!

It’s for Indie Artists with a music video and if you enter, your video will be featured on Babelgum and could be chosen for a new mobile video channel.
