Daft Punk is the collective name of Paris musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (born February 8, 1974) and Thomas Bangalter (born January 3, 1975). The duo are considered one of the most successful electronic music collaborations of all time, both in album sales and in critical acclaim. The name Daft Punk was inspired by a review in the British music magazine Melody Maker, which dubbed their first collaboration, the Beach Boys-inspired guitar group Darlin', "a bunch of daft punk."

  • DAFT PUNK RECORDING NEW ALBUM - BUSY P OUT AS MANAGER!!!

It's true: “The boys are in a studio in Paris at the moment and I can’t wait to listen to their new stuff!" Pedro Winter told ITM. WOW.

Well what news to start off the day; after 12years behind the reigns of the Daft Punk juggernaut our main man Busy P has stepped down from his managerial position to focus on Ed Banger and his own productions. That news in itself should equate to a substantial story, however... Daft Punk are back! Your two favourite robots are doing what they do best, recording new work!

There's still obvious uncertainty about when we will get to hear anything new out our favourite French robots as “They are slow, you know,” Busy P laughed when quizzed on potential release dates. “They are taking their time, and they have a right.” But... "The good thing is that they are making music at the moment."

What will it sound like? Your guess is as good as mine. Honestly I didn't have much complaints with Human After All even though everyone else seemed to pour hateraide all over it...

    Post By: Mathieu Bernier

It's been 1 month and a half I've been working on a DVD of the Paris Bercy show of the Daft Punk.

I've been gathering the best video from Youtube and Dailymotion and making a Final Cut of them Using The Music from the Album released in November.

I finally made a complete DVD that I sent to Pedro Winter so that he can give it to Daft Punk as a gift from Xmas.

  • Scion & VICE present the exclusive Daft Punk Interview!!

    MP3 LINK HERE : http://www.vbs.tv/daftpunk/Daft%20Sc...

The influential, mysterious, and often secretive Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo of Daft Punk when they take some time with Scion Radio to elaborate on their career, their film Daft Punk's Electroma, and art in general. This interview offers exclusive insight into the minds of Daft Punk, a valuable glimpse behind the masks of one of the most iconic groups of this decade.

    Daft Punk's Electroma
Daft Punk's Electroma is an odyssey of two robots (played by Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich) who journey across a mythic American landscape of haunting, surreal beauty on a quest to become human. Their symbolic quest, which takes them from endless two lane highways to small idyllic towns to the arid desert, finds Daft Punk once again resisting conformity and developing new ways to highlight their inventive vision. A departure from the usual cinematic experience, Daft Punk's Electroma captures images and scenes with specific detail. Each scene can be viewed independently, likening the experience to the viewing of an art exhibit, or the recollection of one's own memories. With its breathtaking cinematography, innovative filming techniques, and above all its underlying search for humanity within a dystopian environment, Daft Punk have delivered a film that finds a common thread with their previous work while exploring new horizons as directors of their first feature film. The DVD will be released in spring 2008 on VICE Music.

"A gem. Daft Punk's widescreen debut is a beautiful, sun-blushed nugget of cinema."
    THE GUARDIAN

"A piece of visceral art free from the traditional foundations of narrative filmmaking. It's a fully imagined experience." ANTHEM

"Daft Punk is doing for midnight movies what the French electronica maestros did for disco: injecting the faded genre with their own brand of vitamin Cool." WIRED
