- Felix And The Teabaggers was formed about a year ago, when a group of mates from Writhlington School felt inspired to create some music. Their music, which can only be described as Progressive Party Punk, is a mixture of catchy, fast, heavy riffs contrasted with melodic solos. We try to create music that is original and different from the crowd, so it is quite hard to describe our influences, we just play what we enjoy playing.
Our original name "8 Seconds Slow" was scrapped, because we wanted something that would make an impact. One of our mates suggested Felix And The Teabaggers, which we liked the sound of and this name has stuck ever since. People often ask why we chose Felix, and not Greg... Well Greg and the Teabaggers doesn't have the same ring to it does it! It just doesn't sound right. That's all! Some people also ask what Teabagging means. We can't tell you that!
Our most memorable gig is defiantly playing the Porter Butt in November with Fight or Flight, which was an awesome gig. The place was full and we got the whole crowd dancing. Another good one was at out mate's party in Camerton hail where there was so much equipment; there was no room on stage for the band! So we ended up in places like on top of a piano, on top of a cupboard and standing on the amps. We always try and put on a good show, whoever our audience is. Once we played in a church for four people! But that didn't stop us showing them a good time!
We all work together to write new material, usually everyone comes up with their own parts and this helps to achieve such a diverse range of styles. There is something for everyone in our music, if you are not amused by the crude.. witty lyrics then you will probably be excited by the energetic riffs or the spontaneous instrumental fills.
