My name is Katurah Hughes better known as "The Voice" (the voice of the youth)! I am the founder of CHOSEN TO SERVE MINISTRY! Chosen 2 Serve is a non-denomenational ministry that I started recently to get the youth(ages 13-25)of Jackson and surrounding local areas of MS back involved in their communitiesand churches through their talents and skills and of course the Power of Jesus Christ!


The purpose of the Ministry/ organization CHOSEN TO SERVE is to:
1) To have fun and renew the brotherhood and sisterhood with one another as the people of God-
To truly fellowship in the spirit of christ!
2) To MOTIVATE our brothers and sisters in christ to make a Spiritual difference in their lives and others!
3) And for most to get back involved in our churches and communities through programs and concerts and to better ourselves period!<BR>

* There is NO certain number or limit for each talent as far as individuals! All talents will be combined together (boys and girls) and made into committees for Chosen to Serve! A president and assistant will be picked for each of the particular committees and they will be responsible over that group for that job for Chosen to Serve Ministries! As we all come together to perform these programs for all the different churches!

*GREATLY NEEDED FOR CHOSEN TO SERVE*
ARE ANY INDIVIDUALS WHO CAN WORK SOUNDSYSTEMS, OR HAVE STAGE CREW EXPERIENCE AND CAN TEACH OTHER MEMBERS, ALSO A DIRECTOR`S LEADERSHIP. PULL TOGETHER AND MAKE IT HAPPEN, FROMTHE LIGHTS, CURTAINS, PROPS,ETC.!

The newest mission for Chosen 2 Serve is PUBLICATION! That's right, we want our own newspaper section and magazine! So we're coming together with a monthly edition that we'll print out ourselves with different topics to speak on for the youth and of course events around the states that are Christian activities for the youth to get involved in! And we will have a poetry section...so there's your cue!

Today God Calls You By Name....Will You Answer?

- Today was her day...JaNai Steeles! A friend of mine who died in a car accident on friday Jan.21,2005! I was just beginning to get to know her really well this semester, since we started taking the same lunch period together! The funeral was very emotional...seems like the entire school and staff was there! It was a small church..but it was her home church...there was no room to sit and yet people were still coming in! Our hearts go out to her family! At school the auditorium was scared with her picture and flowers for those who could not attend the funeral! They recieved sky blue ribbions to be pinned on their chest! A group of students came to me and asked me to write a poem for her! They said they might frame it or put it in the casket with her! In the mist of my tears, never knowing that i would have to know JaNai in this way...I did! I called it "A Poem of Peace"! I pray that her soul is saved...but i remember my own at her sake! To all my friends and unknown enemies, I love you all as God loves thee! This is Her Day and I am humble once more as life tragedies tend to do! So forgive my wrong and help me to enhance my rights...before i pass into death from this life! May God bless us all as we struggle to maintain our post near his cross! R.I.P JaNai, I'll see u soon!
