    • Im safe...

      Hey

      Just so you all know there has been some trouble in my city! The local elections were held on thurs and since then there has been a lot of rioting, killing, burning of churches, mossques, homes and businesses. The situation is very serious although we are hoping it has calmed down now. The army are on the streets and we have a cerfew so noone is allowed out! I havent left my own compound since thursday but we are safe in here! We had to move out of the house yesterday for a while but we are back now and all is quiet! if you want more information you can look up.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/77...

      As a result of this my flights have had to be cancelled and im now not leaving Nigeria until saturday!!

      eeeekkkk I cant believe I havent written since Kagoro...sorrio!! Things have been extremley busy here recently!!

      Nothing really out of the ordinary has been happening but we (myself adn the other anna) have just been trying to fit in as many things as possible in r last couple of weeks!! We went hiking up sherry hills on saturday which was AWESOME but im paying for it now cus my legs are killing me lol and ive been hanging out a lot with my Nigerian friends and friends from New Zealand as well who will be leaving the day before us!! Its crazy to think that theres only another week left!!

      My last week looks like this so far...

      Monday - Going to Gidan Bege and then to my last bible study

      Tuesday - My last day at Gidan Bege :( lots of goodbyes and then we are going to Micah and Emmanuel's (the new Mission Africa Boys) house for dinner!!

      Wednesday - Im having all the Gidan Bege boys and some of the staff over to my house for lunch and the I have to say goodbye to them :( :( :( :( hat night we are having a girlie night in the house

      Thurs - Finish some shopping and then Im going to Gyero to say goodbye to the people up there

      Friday - Going to TH to say goodbye and then my last night at the Freitheims hosue for dinner where I will probably say most of my goodbyes to the missionaries

      Saturday - Going swimming at the hotel (try and get sum last minute tan :)) and then we are dressing up and going for diner in a nice restaurant

      Sunday - Church, then a party for Pamala and Musa (Mission Africa lady who just got married to a Nigerian ) and then Ill probably hang out with some of my closest Nigerian friends and say goodbye to them

      On Monday then me and anna will travel to Abuja after saying goodbye to housemates and we fly first thing tuesday morning

      Please pray with me through this week because it really isnt going to be easy!! Im not getting excited about comming home yet because I know that all of this is ahead of me but Im sure once it is done I will be able to look forward to things at home!! I dont know if I will blog again before I leave but Ill see you all soon anyway!!

      What an amazing weekend!!!

      FRIDAY
      The ten of us met up late afternoon and travelled down to kagoro where we were supposed to do sum film outreach but because things dont always go to plan here that didnt happen so we basically just spent the night chillin with the gidan bege boys adn singing worship songs and teaching sum of the guitar! The boys then had prayer and worship from midnight to 3am (they do this every fri nite) but us weak bature (white people) went to bed :)

      SATURDAY

      AM - theres a mountain in kagoro that i have climbed a few times and its absolutly beautiful!! so we decided to try and get to the the top...and we did :) there a village up there and it was reali cool to see!! the women have to hike up and down the mountain all the time with very heavy loads on their heads in order to get stuff at market which is crazy!! i found it a tough hike with just a first aid kit and water on my back never mind huge big branches and bananas!! some of the women are reali old as well!!

      AFTERNOON
      City Ministries has recently helped set up a small school for fulani kinds so we all went their after our hike and just sang some songs with the kids and did a drama!! they are sooooooooooooo sweet

      PM
      After some much needed rest and food we went to do a film outreach in a very remote village. We had to drive for ages along a bush path and then we got to a river that the bus couldnt cross so we had to take all our equipment and hike the rest of the way! when we arrived the people were so excited and had been waiting for about 5hrs for us!! So while the eqipment was being set up, myself and sum other girls just sang some songs for the villagers and then they sang for us!! it was reali special!!

      SUNDAY
      Sunday morning was taken up by church and then we had to leave after we had taken some food!! On the way home we stopped off at some waterfalls tho and just hung out for a while which was lovely!

      So the weekend was an overall success!! It was just reali nice to be able to hang out with some of my nigerian friends and spend time with the people down there!! I love that place!!

      but i didnt think ppl would read it properly...

      Which would then be...

      T(as in the current time) minus 6 days untill you return.

      Its said like that cos you cant really say its 6 days... Heres how it works!

      if the count down was for 20 seconds :)
      at 11 seconds you would say T-10 seconds...
      ...because by the time you had said that 1 second would have passed...
      ...therefore time(current time 11 seconds) minus 10 seconds...

      confused? :D

      Its ok im sure other people would be too!!
