- Tipped by The Irish Times as being one of thee bands to look out for in 2008, The Cherries bring you their exciting and unique blend of dirty blues, sleazy cabaret, theatre, classical orchestral sounds and funk. It is almost impossible to define their style as it encompasses elements from so many different genres but at the same time, the music in its own right offers something really special and fresh.
The Cherries are an eclectic four piece who formed in November 2005.

Gemma McGowan - Vocals and Shape throwing
Rosana Schwarsacher - Cello
Jareth Tait– Drums
Their live show is a spectacle, which grabs hold of the audience member full force and doesn’t let go. The bizarre mix of Kierans virtuoso playing and deep soul full voice, combined with McGowans wild dance moves, rich vocals and commanding stage presence makes every Cherries show a true event

The Cherries on the John Daly Radio Show Sat 1st March @ 2pm
Hey all. Just letting you know that The Cherries will be doing an interveiw and playing some live music on the John daly Radio Show on BBC Radio Ulster tomorrow, Sat 1st March at 2pm or there abouts. It would be great if a few of you could listen in.

Hi!
Just to let you know, the SNCL will be holding their very first outdoor open air event. Performances will be by The Fontanels, The Curtain Thieves and The Beached Whales. There will also be debut performances by Dundalk Music scene New-comers Cillium, Valentino and the alternative DJ duo JJ Riot and Vizeo.
It will be held in the Marshes over-spill car park and is sure to be a great night.

Highway67 Presents: Guitar Hero Dundalk 2008!...
For our very first H67 event we have a fantastic competition for the bands of Dundalk! Each band in Dundalk nominates one member from their band to compete in Dundalks first ever Guitar Hero Competition which will be held in the Spirit Store on Saturday the 10th of January! (Competition begins at 2pm and finishes at 5pm)
The person chosen to represent their band will battle other band competitors in the group stages, progress to the quarter and semi finals until a winner is victorious in the Finale!
The winner will be crowned champion and receive the H67 Guitar Hero Trophy plus a lot of really fantastic prizes! Entry is free for participants and spectators!
To enter your band please email: admin@highway67.net and forward your band mate for entry. There are over 30 bands in dundalk so we are hoping for at least one person from every band to participate! More details will follow!
