Gareth Ainsworth has been DJing since 2001, getting his first set of decks when he was just 11 year's old. He began his career playing at many of Ireland's acclaimed 'under 18s' events and DJ competitions thus moving onto Private Functions and nights in various Belfast bars/clubs. In 2002 after encouragement from enthusiastic clubbers, his parents bought him a set of Technics 1210 turntables in the hope that this investment would help further their 12 year old’s sons obvious DJing Talent.
In 2003 still only the tender age of 13, Gareth jetted off to England to play alongside Radio 1's Dave Pearce, at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne’s largest venue Liquid where he performed a stomping set to almost 2000 young clubbers as part of the Top 24 in the UK in Radio 1’s Young DJ Search achieving an extraordinary response and ranking at Number 2 in the Trance category.
On his return from Newcastle after some recognition from local Club Promoters and Management, Gareth has went on to play in Belfast nightclubs such as Box, Skye, The Potthouse, La Lea, The Eg and many more whilst still covering Private Functions in other venues and upholding atleast 2 weekly residencies which he still holds today.
Now coming to the end of his teens and having played in more than 70 venues, Gareth is continuing to develop his DJing careeer playing mainly a mixture of chic Urban and House music whilst still building upon a large collection of all genres and leaving his sets open to the musical interests of his clientele.0 Comments 195 weeks

10 Things NOT to say to a DJ [AND WHY!!!]
1. PLAY SOMETHING GOOD... SOMETHING WE CAN DANCE TO!
[The DJ has to play for more than one person... so what you hate may
be another's favorite song and EVERYTHING played here can be danced to,
one way or another, asshole!]
2. WOULD YOU PLAY SOMETHING WITH A "BEAT"!
[Get real! We know of NO songs played in a club that don't have some
sort of BEAT!]
3. I DON'T KNOW WHO SINGS IT AND I DON'T KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG, BUT IT GOES LIKE THIS............
[PLEASE don't sing for the DJ. We have to put up with rooms full of smelly people and loud music levels all night long... Do us a favour and DON'T give
us a rendition of your favorite song, however good you might think you are... knobjockey!]
4. EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR IT!
[OK... you just polled everyone in the club and, as their spokesperson, you're requesting the song.]
5. EVERYBODY WILL DANCE IF YOU PLAY IT!
[The DJ won't. I guess that blows a hole in your theory!]
6. I CAN GET LAID IF YOU PLAY IT!
[Why settle for one night? Buy the CD and get laid for a whole month,
wanker!]
7. I WANT TO HEAR IT NEXT!
[The ONLY people who can get away with that statement sign the DJ's pay cheque!]
8. WHAT DO YOU HAVE?
[It's a lot easier for you to go have another beer and figure out what you want to hear than it is for the DJ to recite the name of every record in the
box!]
9. HEY, MAN, NOBODY CAN DANCE TO THIS!
[It's NOT advisable to say this when the dance floor is packed (but some
people do anyway)! HOWEVER, even if there is only ONE person on the floor, it STILL contradicts the statement!]
10. PLAY IT SOON BECAUSE WE'RE LEAVING!
[If you're gonna leave after I play it, why shouldn't I wait until the
