Zeitgeist the gelid
Oh Zeitgeist you are faineant!
It is an arcanum yet obdurated by the lacuna which was friable
Your scrabble was mimetic and pertinacious to remonstrate my imprimatur
With raillery you supplicate to the primogeniture
Your inculcation to the nonagenarian who is upbraided yet stoic
Then quietus
With your adventitious callow claim you permeate your effusive being
Nolens Volens, your disheveled caterwaul leaving an indelible memory
You neophyte! Go back to sylvan and play your canorous...
Translation
Oh spirit of time you are idle!
It is a mystery yet unyielding by the blank space which was easily crumbled
Your scrapes with hands were imitative and stubbornly persistent to reason urges against my approval
With good-humoured banter you petition to the exclusive right of inheritance that belongs to the eldest son.
Your attempts to impress by frequent repetition to the 90 something year old who is scolded yet unaffected by pleasure or pain
Then death
With your adventitious immature claim you spread your excessively demonstrative being
whether unwilling or willing, your disarranged screech leaving a memory that is incapable of being removed
You novice! Go back to the woods and play your musical...

The trouble that is Bjorn
Bjorn, Godsend of Sweden, drinker of vodka and speaker of Russian
Many judgements you did but inter like that time you almost killed us all
Driving straight for a roudabout with no thoughts on turnings left nor right
"What i'm drunk!" an excuse if ever I heard one
Bjorn, Rattler of Knuckles, teller of Manus that I have "spiked" his drink
Yet when it comes to you no one knows what you will do
Like that time you threw wine over Manus and then followed up by saying
"Manus do you want some wine?" an excuse if I ever heard one
Bjorn, Driver of Jeep, dancer of illuminating ability, almost robotic
How fast you can run, tis a mystery here but still unsaid
almost like that time you, Manus and I chased after that baboon
and you said... Oh wait you weren't actually there
Warner and Sharpe
"Warner! what are you doing?" shouted Sharpe
"Nothing!" exclaimed Warned
and so they strutted and danced and eat chapati
all the while getting drunk
Competition
three.... two.... one.... Start!
I started on the beer, and guzzled it down
My plan was simple, lube the mouth then fire in chapati
I took a quick glance to see Manus making quick progress
I tried to stuff the chapati down my mouth in one go
useless... and so I tried to stuff it into my pocket
I eventually opted to drop it on the floor
A winner had been declared, now only position mattered
Eventually a judge searched my pockets
he found nothing (I was now standing on the chapati)
and so I came last, even though I cheated

Swimming without water
The day is hot, as is the sun
That's just another fact of life
We go outside and cycle to work
Just another day in our lifes
We wear swimming shorts and nothing else
yet we don't go swimming, or even to the sea
We run about bare footed, conditioned
After a day with feet burnt by hot sand
and pierced by thorny undergrowth
Still wearing our swimming shorts
Yet never going for a swim
One day a christian lady said to me
"do you mind putting on some clothes?
we have families in this area"
I said to her
"Oh, i'm sorry I was about to go for a swim"
The 2nd Mecca
We travelled by bus and then by boat
Shirtless we had become in our journeys
As we sat on the boat, we saw eyes that met our own
Looking and staring as if we had done something wrong
My first thought was "They are jealous of our hot bodies"
Oh Lamu! how wrong I was!
Thankfully a fellow honky explains to me
"I'm sorry there fellows, but you have to at least wear a t-shirt
The island is a religious site and it would be an offence
to seem unseemly (even if you do have hot bods)"
and so with our bare chests covered we entered Lamu
A place called paradise for obvious reasons
And as it would happen I learned one thing
