- Hey everyone! My name is Mark (or Markie as I have come to be considered by many). I am 21 years old and come from Glasgow, Scotland. I have the most awesome friends. Big shout out to them...and also have the most amazing girlfriend a guy could ask for! Her name is Lorna. She is very, VERY cool! Also a big shout out to the big man upstairs (God). He has carried me through tough times and encouraged me in the good times. He loves y'all too! I am a student and am studying photography at North Glasgow College. - Music
- My music taste is pretty wide. Mostly christian stuff...but as long as it holds a good tune and lyrics, then I don't see the harm in it.
- Films
- Erm funny ones such as Adam Sandler movies etc, action movies such as the Die Hard series (4.0 is AMAZING!) Superhero movies such as Superman, Sci Fi movies like the Star Wars movies, and I'll admit to one or two romantic ones like ELIZABETHTOWN!!!...and not forgetting disaster movies like ARMAGEDDON!! Lol. In other words - I'm a movie geek!
- Sports
- I like tennis (both court and table). Also enjoy watching the olympics and the like. It's the variety of events which I like about them.
- People
- My friends. They are ALL AMAZING! My family are also pretty special. Not forgetting Lorna. Well....what can I say? She's Lorna!
- Objects
- Well my bible to start off. Erm my phone is also a big one for me and my Ipod too etc.
- Instruments
- I play electric guitar. I've been practicing quite a bit recently which in theory means I'm getting better. I've also been playing bass guitar for around six years now.

A conversation with Jesus - poem wrote a while ago but Lorna said it was good so....REPOST!
Jesus was standing at my door
"I've heard you pray, now give me more"
I asked, "What more I give the Lord himself?"
He said "Remove your bible from that shelf!"
I did and started reading the ancient book,
And I realised for my life, what Jesus took.
He took his own dear life for me!
And shocked I asked, "How can this be?"
He simply looked and laughed out loud.
"My child, you are caught in a shroud"
He said, "Read! You're getting to the best part,
About The Father and His awesome heart!
And how he sent me to die in your place,
I was in pain, you should have seen my face!
Through the pain I gave you a gift from God,
Are you understanding? Give me the nod.."
I stood and stared trying to take it in.
What was this gift I'd thrown in the bin?
True, I had often said my prayers at night,
But this had come as a bit of a fright!
I screamed out to Jesus, "What do I do?
There's no point in denying that this is true!
My Lord and My Saviour, please tell me how,
There's no time to wait. I must find out now."
Said Jesus then, "You've nailed it on the head!
You can now sleep well when you go to bed.
For my child, you're pleas have been heard by me.
In Heaven tonight there's a jubilee!"
I stood up from weeping wondering why.
With all of his power, why did he die?
He said "My child, you're missing the point!
Now that you're sorry, to you I'll anoint
You see, I loved to visit the sinner,
Once I even went round for my dinner!
But without me accepted in your heart
Then my dying for you was the pointless part!
Though now you have been forgiven of sin,
When you go out you must show me within.
I do not accept people half sincere
You must give the message 'Jesus is here!'"

Bye bye singleton life!
Okay, so it's no secret it has been forever since I posted a blog. Sorry. For the start of my (abridged) story, cast your minds back to the blog which mentioned Mark Williamson and his daughter going to Frenzy back in June. Welll....that daughter returned just before my birthday (oh btw thanks for all the Happy Birthdays), and I was captivated (This isn't a soppy story). Then we found ourselves flirting with each other! Then we sat down with a group of other young people to watch a movie and, half way through, we found ourselves holding hands! 'No way!' I hear you say! Well, yes way! If you know me you'll know of the awkward chat I tried to have with her after THAT moment of intimacy...but eventually she convinced me that she wasn't 'leading me on' but actually liked me back! 'No way!!' I hear you say! Well, yes way!! So we have now been going out for about a month and a half and see no sign of stopping. Her name is Lorna Anne Williamson (which for the eagle-eyed has the same number of letters as Mark Alexander Nelson) and she is awesome. That is really all I feel I need to tell you about her here and now.

PB - Blog 6 - 19/6/08 (20:06-20:14)
Be in a ceilidh band? ME?!?!
Yes, yes. I know it's been a while since I've written to the blog, but I thought I'd wait till my day off cause in theory, I should make more sense now....but that is just a theory.
So started the youth work side of my job this past week, I ran a small event type thing for a bunch of young people from the nearby area. Was good. They pretty much took over the minute-by-minute running of it, which was good. Could throw my plan out the window then
I'm really getting into every day life now. I savour my days off though, but that is not to say I'm not enjoying myself. Far from it!
So the main reason I picked today to write my blog is because of Saturday. On Saturday there is a wedding being held here...which is fair enough, but they asked me to play bass in the ceilidh band. I'll do it, but I am VERY nervous, and would value everyones prayers.
A bible story which has encouraged me over the years is the story of Moses. He was taken out of his comfort zone by God and for God, and I want that to be me...cause I know my reward will be great!
So my birthday is a week on Sunday. That scares me a little. Imagine me as a 20 year old! Ancient!

life is going alright i suppose, still on holiday from uni so really just lazing about all day and all night. it's a bit embarrassing to be honest. What you doing with yourself these days? Me, you and stuart should catch up some time, for old times sake. -

Ahh I am slowly piecing together the Port Ban story of your life - I will remember your summer tip if ever I venture in that direction...we shall see!!!
Yeah, distance sucks, and whilst that good old saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" is true, it still sucks at the time!! Glad you had a good New Year - was laughing at your "raunchy" photos hahaha you are a sly old man Mark Nelson!! The Credit Crunch does suck yes, but God will provide, maybe in unexpected or unusual ways, but keep your eyes fixed on him, do what he wants you to do, and what He has said is right, and he will look after you!!
Re: your Glasgow tour comment - the more the merrier if you are doing the tour, in the wrong places! And it's coming up 3 years now! How time flies....

Anyway, hope you are still seeing great blessings in your life - remember never to lose sight of the little, "everyday" miracles - they are the ones to sustain you on your journey between the mountain tops.
