About Me

Me, Myself, and I
I'm Steven. If personalities were people, mine would be the Mexican guy with gang tattoos standing in the corner of the club chewing a razor-blade. I was born in Cape Town and moved to England when I was 13. I'm now in my second year of Economics at the University of Newcastle, where I pretend I know what's going on. Really though, I have no idea. I work part-time at TGI Fridays and this allows me to feed my insatiable hunger for heroin. In my spare time, I do some thinking. I am as deep as people are prepared to look. Many don't look past the arrogance. But that's people for you, isn't it?
Music
Immortal Technique, Chino XL, Supastition, Nick Fury, HRSMN, Royce Da 5'9, Eminem, 2Pac, Common, Big L, Black Star, Pharoahe Monch, Nas, Atmosphere, Eyedea, Juice, DMX, Copywrite, Cage, Ikon Tha Mic King, Kanye West, Last Emperor, Mac Lethal, Method Man, Redman, Xzibit, Planet Asia, J-Zone, Supernatural, The Roots, Biggie, Ras Kass, Canibus, Joe Budden, Aesop Rock, Sage Francis, Jakki Da Motamouth, Q-Unique, Apathy, ODB, Rakim, Outkast, LL Cool J, Cypress Hill, C-Rayz Walz, Strong Hold, Masta Ace, QN5, Akir, Jadakiss, Non-Phixion, Brother Ali, De La Soul, Dilated Peoples, Wordsworth, (old) 50 Cent, Jedi Mind Tricks, Busta Rhymes, Jean Grae, PackFM, Crooked I, Organized Konfusion, Cage, DJ Honda, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Nappy Roots, Kurupt, Rahzel, Prime, Proof, Jin, Muse, Thirsty Merc, Cranberries, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Deftones...The list grows.
Films
Leon, Equilibrium, Desperado, Don Juan de Marco, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 The Grave, Blade 1+2, The Usual Suspects, American Pie, Friday, The Mask of Zorro, The Matrix, Pirates of the Caribbean, X-Men 2, Pulp Fiction, Pitch Black, Motorcycle Diaries, 8 Mile, Boyz N The Hood, How High?, Shaun of the Dead, Romeo Must Die, Training Day, The Bone Collector, John Q, Man On Fire, Daredevil, Crash, Malcolm X
Internet
Bebo's wack.
Better than
You and everyone you know.
Books
The Autobiography of Malcolm X. Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life. John Sloman has saved my ass numerous times. Anything by Noam Chomsky.
People
I like real people. Real people are those who are true to themselves no matter what the consequences are. That DOESN'T mean you can be an argumentative, self-centred BITCH and claim 'I'm not changing for anyone, because this is who I am'. It may well be true, but that makes you inconsiderate, which then removes you from the list. Real people don't worry about fitting in, they just do what the fuck they wanna do. I like people who are dynamic. I usually like foreigners (provided they don't have a conversation-crippling accent) because they tend to have broader horizons than people who have never seen another culture.
Dislikes
I don't like people who are always telling me how "bored" they are. Little emo kids constantly posting bulletins saying "I'm boredddd". There's no excuse for being "bored". There's so much stuff happening in the world that people are completely ignorant to because it doesn't affect them. Instead of worrying about how slightly darker eyeshadow might bring out the "torment" in your soul, why don't you increase your awareness of the world? Questioning the inherent privileges you have (because of your race or nationality) is a good place to start. For example, asking "Why do we live in a white-normative society?". Why (in so many peoples heads) are there "whites" and "non-whites"? Why are people of colour (including Pakistanis, Aboriginals, Chinese, blacks of any nationality) in ONE group, and whites are in another? From here, we can move on to world issues. Once we are aware, we can make a serious attempt to bring equity to the masses, using whatever mediums we have available to us.

In response to our earlier conversation..
People won't que up on here to add you simply because you're "hot" because you won't be linked to anyone's page for them to see you in the first place.. Add all your friends from high school or Uni and take it from there.. If you're really serious about beboing, but I don't think you are.
    What did I lose? x

There goes your comment virginity.. Right under my belt xD
    Was that a pun?
    I have no idea.
You know, if you didn't harrass me on MySpace I think I'd message you anyway. Dig the chat about foreigners, you're so right. Even British people who have or want to travel are generally more interesting. Why don't people listen to ME when I say things like that?
