Do you know what I really hate about being me… when I prepare leave the house in the morning my make-ups lovely, my hairs sitting still, my clothes look pretty and the sun is shining and then as soon as I step out the door the rain pours and my hair is no longer normal, then the sun burns and I sweat my make-up off then the tube to meet my coach to Edinburgh breaks down and I have to run to the bus station somehow managing to make what looked like a perfectly nice outfit into what looks like a rag ladies attire. I hate being me… I’m big and awkward and look mentally retarded when I run…. Actually that’s quite insulting to mentally retarded people… I look like a mentally retarded cat when I run…. A mentally retarded cat that only has three legs and one eye!!!!!!!!

So I have to go through to Edinburgh every day to rehears for the play I’m in during the festival… it’s called “The Guid Sisters” and is on during the fringe from the 4th-18th of August at EGO, it’s part of the free fringe so tickets cost zilch… so you all have no excuse not to come, unless you live somewhere other than the UK then you do… Oh and it starts at 6:15pm every day (mustn’t forget that!)

I’ve got an interview with the Sunday times Ecosse magazine this evening and a photo shoot tomorrow, it should be in the magazine this Sunday or the next… I’m not sure so look out for it.

A child puked in the seat behind me on the coach to Edinburgh today which gave me the dry boke!

As my 21st birthday draws ever nearer I have taken a walk back down memory lane. I’ve watched old home movies of Christmas 1988 and my third birthday. Apart from the extreme growth spurt, my hair changing dramatically from blonde to brown and the fact my dad can no longer lift me I think I’m pretty much the same.

I pulled out my year book from what seems years ago, I graduated from Hutchesons Grammar School class of 2004 with a whole lot of resentment for the place. As I flicked through the thick hard back book filled with pictures I realised that I had forgotten that 90% of the people even existed. People who were once my class mates were now “what’s his names” and “that bitch!”, It’s so bizarre because I can remember almost every girl who passed through the doors of my old school in my 11 years there. I remember every hymn we sang in the morning, I remember the words to the donkey seller song from my first nativity but for the life of me I have no idea who James McKay is, and apparently he was in my year at school.

I remember my leaver’s ball, I saw a small ginger girl who I recognised from the long busy corridors of Hutchie, I thought she was only a third year. I approached her rather drunkenly and asked “I thought this thing was only for 6th years, are you leaving school too?” she replied, “I’m in your year Ashley!”… How the hell did she know my name?

One person I remember very well from school was a rather eccentric chap who went by the name of Andrew Tickell. We were in no way the best of buddies but I still have a lot of respect for him, I think he was the only person in my year I actually looked up to. With the eloquence of Stephen Fry and the brain of Steven Hawkins he made all the little fucks in that place look exactly what they were… little fucks. Well apparently I wasn’t as hated as I believed, I’d like to leave you chaps with some of the words of my fellow students from the cover of my year book. Here’s what they said about me:

“Good luck to one of the only people at Hutchie I’ve met who stay true to themselves . (Eric)

Well that’s the end of this trip folks… P.S I’ve had all my hair cut and will be posting pictures of the debacle as soon as I can bare my mothers wrath. hahahaha
