- Scottish Comedian of the Year 2008 , Underbelly 7.50pm Aug 6th - 30th
- Me, Myself, and I
- Having won Scottish Comedian of the Year 2008 - Scott now takes his first full solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe this August (6th - 30th) 7.50pm at the Underbelly.
What comedy critic Steve Bennett of Chortle.co.uk wrote about me: "He shares Billy Connolly's ability to spin an anecdote and draw out its humour. His tale of two tramps playing ‘shite volley’, especially, you can imagine coming from the Big Yin."

Scott Agnew: Warts and all and Cristiano Ronaldo
Hello folks - welcome to the new website - if you've come to this blog via scottagnew.co.uk. To folks that are reading it on my frankly awful myspace site or the bebo page you might want to try that link in future - it's cleaner as a webspace and hopefully there will be other intresting things on it soon - as well as my slightly cheeky flyer for the Big Boy show.
Only a week after the brochure launch for the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival and I've had some interest from a couple of Press outlets about my solo show "Big Boy." Possibly the cover of a magazine - which would be nice and the other a very nice swish glossy with a whole page to myself.
Both however say they require photos. I dropped my usual publicity pics along to them and I was told it wasn't really what they'd be looking for and they'd much prefer fresh new pics.
Now at the minute I've got a horrible rotten worry wart right slap bang on the top of my lip. It's been driving me insane for a few months now and is rather unsightly if not downright disgusting. It looks especially bad as it keeps on getting caught up with my razor balde when I'm shaving so has been getting increasingly gnarled.
I'd visited the GP about it umpteen times and as usual the NHS prescribed all the wrong remedies until I eventually sought a third opinion and was given the correct treatment. A good old freezing of it. The first freezing in November didn't affect it much nor the freezing in December and a further freezing in January only marginally made a difference.
Then I discovered you could buy the freezing stuff over the counter and have made a job of blasting the shit out of this horrid little blighter every other day. In the space of a week I've managed to reduce it by half and if it keeps up at this rate it might be away by the time I need to get my photograph taken for these mags - result. If not I have expressed to both publications that I have no objection to airbrushing if that's what is required so as not to upset their readers.
With this wart clinging on for dear life at the minute and me sweating it about these photos due to be taken I have become more depressed watching the Manchester United against Tottenham game. Now I know one should never measure up against celebrity and the like because all their pics are airbrushed to oblivion and no one really looks that good.
If that's the case could someone please explain to me Cristiano Ronaldo?
It's a wet, horrible Sunday in January, he has been sprinting like a gazelle up and down that mucky pitch all afternoon and scored two goals in the process and the Portugese swine is immaculate. Hair pretty much perfect, not a mark on his face, not a blemish on his body - even when he sweats it only adds to his appeal. He doesn't even look dirty from the grass and mud. And most annoying of all, you known he hasn't been airbrushed or had a make-up artist work with him for four hours prior to the match - it's live telly - he does ACTUALLY look that good. Just as much as live telly lets you know that Wayne Rooney looks that bad.
It's not just Cristiano Ronaldo's incredibly stunning visage which has been getting to me the planned show for the comedy fetival has become a niggle too.
I've had a clear idea of what I've been intending to do with the Big Boy show for quite a while now and what stories I wanted to tell however there's a difficulty in writing it that's beggining to get rather irritating.
How do you write a show that features mental health issues that's both funny and informative and trying not to be too flippant at the same time?
Well we shall see if I succeed come March - previous shows I have done have either just been an extension of my club set or, as last year's show (Bingo!), simply about up the arse shagging. Whilst they've been entertaining enough and I've always got a good reaction from my audiences at them, I'm keen to go other places.
Now I'm pretty sure that I'll always hav1 Comment 665 days
