    • winning the tarawera 50 in 2005 (i came 2nd in 06 )

      well i remember lyke it was yesterday it started off sorta owt of it mum and i rolld up in the g-ride felling sorta nervis nd tyred. (broble cozz i didn go to bed when i was supos to th nyte b4... ) but i was ready to win the event all trail riderd owt runing gloves, ma pratice socks ,donkey back, ma best gear nd best of all mikes little fly tool powch. wen i signd in they gave me a sticker to put on my helmed. thn riders breffing happend nd they did thr thing nd told us all th crap tht they tell u thn thy told us to line up on th line in 5 mins.i was nex to damien .god hes a fag .i got to th line gud nd mum said gud luck and said some motivation stuf like 'u betta win or ur gna walk home' or 'dont mke me look bad john u remembered what happend last time..' thn we did a pratic of th start and tht was ezey. now it was time for th important bit of the race .the start was tuff but i had gud position and wen tht gun shoot i had a gud kick nd it went first go but i didnt put it into gear so tht lost me lyke 2 seconds on every 1 elese, but by th time i enterrd th bush i was in 5th spot nd just charged thro thn i was in 2nd place behind kane lemont. mike told me to hang behind him jst so if thrs any hasserds he would get cort up in it nd i would b sweet nd just tht happend ,he got stung by bees wich he was alegic 2 so from thn on thr was no 1 challenging me wich was gud nd won th enduro race by lyke 7 minuts thn andey migekan came ova nd was taking pictures nd i was in th kiwi rider all trail riderd owt looking prity rugid. but tht was alrit cozz i got a big trofy nd a plark on anothr trofy wich i didnt get to bring home gggrr .and from thn on people hav been coming up 2 me aasking if i was th guy tht won th tarawera 50 nd i reply yes, yes i am (nd th stupid stickr took ages to take off ma helmet im ova it!).
