- Belfast Trojans American Football Club est. 2006
We are a senior adult fully kitted team that will be competing in the Irish American Football League (IAFL) 2009 season under NCAA rules. A team which established itself as title contenders in their first regular season.
The team train at Malone Rugby Club, training starts 1pm sharp on the field, kit up from 12:30 onwards. The first match is coming up, learn those plays, cleans those cleats and let's get the party started!

- We play full contact American Football, you do NOT need experience of playing the sport to come down, in fact most of our team started out by simply watching it on T.V. it’s a fun/tough game that provides a new experience for anyone wanting to take part. There is a position available to everyone, and that is part of the beauty of the game.
- Coaching
- The Trojans have an excellent set of coaches, with NFL experience, something that is rarely found at this level.
Jeroen Egge: Jeroen is the head coach and is a former NFL Europe player. He also refused trials with the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks because he wanted to finish his masters. He also played in the top division in College American Football, against many stars in the NFL today.
Rob Lyttle: Rob is also a former top flight College player and played on the same team as Tom Brady (3 time Super Bowl winner). He trained with the San Diego Chargers of the NFL, and had it not been for an untimely muscle tear, would have progressed to play top level ball. - Scared Of

- Our roster includes some of the most talented players in league. We have several fully capped Irish internationals, along with a solid group of younger players and rookies making up an exciting squad.
- Season Preview!!!
- Entering the league for the 2009 season after a playoff finishes in their first two seasons, the Trojans will again be a tough physical side. There are several Team Ireland regulars on the defensive side of the ball including Erin Wagner, Warren Thompson, Chris Weir and Jay Kay. Joining this solid group are several other experienced players including Rob Lyttle, Karl Ward and Scott Fischaber to name a few. The defensive scheme installed by head coach Barry Magee will be aggressive and exciting. On the offensive side of the ball The Trojans aim to strike a balance between a solid ground game and an exciting aerial attack. The WR group will be explosive and experienced, with pace and power all over the field. The RB's are led by another Team Ireland regular, Kris Donaghy, and supported by a talented trio of new players. Some of the hugely successful junior squad will be progressing to the senior squad this season to strengthen the team.

First game of 2008
The first game of 2008 has come and gone and the Rebels walked away, albeit bruised and battered, with a 16 to nil win.
The scoreline does not reflect a hard fought game, the conditions not conducive in any way to open football. Both defences stood firm for the first half to turn around 0-0 at half time. In fact it wasn't until the 3rd quarter that the Rebels running game finlly opened up the Trojans defence to put them in a scoring position, and a quick out to the WR led to a touchdown. 2 point conversion good by the Rebels. Again in the 4th quarter the defences stood firm until the Rebels running game again got them within scoring distance and a TD was battered in. The Trojans defence started slow, and with no complete passes, the work laid onto the run game was just too much to ask and only handful of first downs were completed.
Both teams played their hearts out, rookies blooded, bruises given and recieved and some cracking hits on both sides of the ball. For the Trojans, the CB's stood out, both Drew and Scuba thundering into the Rebels players to leave them sore after the game. The offence looked like it was slowly getting in gear, but too little too late unfortunately.
Congratulations to the Rebels, hopefully see you again in the playoffs for a little revenge!!

Quick up date!!
At the time of writing this the Trojans lie in joint first place place on the North conference log, with a game in hand over the Bulls. this is virtue of a 28 to 12 victory over the Dublin Dragons and a 10 all draw with the Bulls. Winning the next 3 games will ensure a top place finish and qualification for the playoffs.
the next game is away to Cork, then back to back games home and away against Carrick. Good luck to the lads travelling to cork!

Belfast Bulls @ Belfast Trojans, 27/5/07
The Belfast Trojans play the Bulls in the return divisional fixture. This game will determine who goes top of the division this weekend.
The game will be held at Gibson Park, home of Malone rugby club, with a 2pm kick off. All are welcome!
