IRISH RAP STARS TO HEADLINE SUMMERJAM PARTY IN NAVAN - Was in the paper today
Navan may not be known for the glitz and glamour of the Hip-Hop world, but nevertheless it appears to be next in line to witness the Rap Ireland bandwagon roll into town. Following a string of high-profile events over the past year, which have included touring with the likes of Rihanna and Pharrell Williams, Rap Ireland’s brand has soared in recent months, culminating in Snoop Dogg’s personal request to promoters MCD that his “Dublin Brothers” Rap Ireland perform alongside him at the RDS Simmonscourt this September.
While it may seem that this homegrown crew have appeared on the scene out of the blue, they have in fact been honing their craft and developing a formidable following in Ireland’s major cities, with sold-out club shows and a nationally distributed magazine under their belt in just a few short years.
Having just recently wowed crowds at the Jay-Z afterparty in Cork, Rap Ireland came to the attention of Solar Nightclub in Navan, who were quick to snap up the upcoming talent for the SummerJam’08 event in the club on July 25th.
“Navan has a huge young urban population these days and with so many requests coming in to do a party there we simply had no choice”, explains Rap Ireland’s Kev Storrs, “We are extremely honoured that a club with a reputation and history such as Solar have asked us to headline their event. We hope to give Navan an event that will live long in the memory!”
SummerJam’08 takes place this Friday July 25th at Solar Nightclub in Navan. Tickets available at the door.
