In February 2008 North Tipperary Ógra Fianna Fáil passed a motion at the National Fianna Fáil Youth Conference, held in Tullamore. "Motion No. 42. Ógra calls on the government to retain the current pen-and-paper voting process. Proposed by: North Tipperary Ógra."

That was to call on the 2008 National Youth Conference to pass our motion and lead the campaign to 'Save the Tallyman'.

The 'Save the Tallyman' Campaign aims to maintain the current voting system of pencil and ballot paper and to dispose of the costly electronic voting machines. Mentioned on 'The Right Hook' on Newstalk 106-108FM and on the Marian Finucane Show on RTÉ Radio 1.
