Big names in music, sports and movies are coming together for an unbelievable concert to raise funds for tsunami ravaged Islands in the Pacific.

Less than two weeks ago an undersea earthquake generated four tsunamis which crashed into Tonga, Samoa and American Samoa, laying to waste whole villages in minutes. In response, stars of the silver and small screen, as well as sporting celebrities are backing a Pacific Tsunami Relief Concert 2009 at Sydney Showgrounds on the 31st of October and it's made possible by the New South Wales Council for Pacific Communities.

Parramatta Eels star Joe Galuvao said, "Our people have been devastated. I feel I have a duty, we all have a duty and responsibility to do what we can to help our fellow man. We feel the loss of everyone who lost someone there. I am Samoan, but if it was any other family we'd be doing the same thing."

That's why Joe and other football stars have backed the Pacific Tsunami Relief Concert. "So many people are asking what can I do?" Joe continued, "So many friends wanted to help. I Spoke to Andrew Johns and he found the resort he surfed at was totally wiped out. There's nothing that's happened like this in the pacific Islands that I've heard of in my lifetime. So we're getting behind this Concert and we're hoping everyone can come out and join in, and help the relief effort. I think this concert is just proof of what the community can do when it comes together."

URGENT PARKING NOTICE - Due to the wet weather, the lower car park will not be open. Parking will be VERY LIMITED. Please find alternate street parking or use public transport - Bus 765 from box hill central or train to Laburnam train station.

There will be no food / market stalls or festival activities this Saturday 17th. Only Games. The Finals and Festival will be at the same venue the Following Saturday 24th.
