Howdy!

Welcome to my Bebo page. My interests/obsessions are magic - I specialise in Close Up Card Magic - and the different cue sports, especially American Pool. I spend a lot of my spare time going to different Magic Conventions - either to enjoy or to perform at - and watching and playing in different pool tournaments.

I have a blog, which was set up before I found out about Bebo. www.thecardman.co.uk is where you can read about what I've been up to, my thoughts on different things and get links to pictures of family, friends and my travels.

      Both my Mum and my Sister are going to be taking part in the Race For Life in aid of Cancer Research UK.     • Blatant Plug - Dwight Slade: Oran Mor, Glasgow: Tomorrow Night

      Hi folks

      Just a quick one of these to let you all know that one of my favourite Stand Up Comedians, Dwight Slade (www.dwightslade.com), is performing in Glasgow TOMORROW NIGHT at Oran Mor. Doors are at 7pm and I believe his show starts at 8pm. Tickets, priced £10, are still available and I would highly, completely and totally recommend that everyone goes and listens to what he has to say.

      I found out about him through reading and watching things about some guy Bill Hicks (some of you may have heard me mention Hicks in the past). The 2 of them were best friends at School and, for a while, were comedy partners - until Dwight's parents had to move away because of work, etc. I finally got to see him perform live at the Edinburgh Festival a couple of years ago and he did not disappoint.       Hi folks

      Today sees the 14th anniversary of the passing of, in my opinion, one of the greatest Stand Up Comedians who ever lived - Bill Hicks. He died in 1994 aged 32 from Pancreatic Cancer and performed comedy that REALLY made you think. It is just as relevant today as it was back in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s. Go find his stuff about the first Gulf War and think about the current “War On Terror”, especially before Iraq came under US Control.

      RIP, Bill! I, for one, still wonder what you’d be saying about the world today.
