Mikepat O'Donoghue here. I am running for Entertainments Officer in the the UCD Students Union elections this week and would really like your vote and your support. I am an experienced candidate having organized Comm Day this year and have been a former auditor of Q-Soc and also one of the main organizers of the fashion show last year.

Here are just some of my ideas for Ents next year.

Bring back the UCD Fashion Show
Get Pints in The Bar (Bavaria/Tuborg)
€2 Drinks Nights in The Student Bar
Bring Back Rag Week To UCD
A Bigger Better UCD Ball Feat Acts Like Lady Gaga, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, Justice, Snow Patrol
Organise an Anti Fees Concert with Outspoken anti fee musicians such as Gary Lightbody and Christie Moore
Fundraisers for sports clubs
A freshers ball on campus
International Class Trips and an American Style Spring Break to Ibiza

Everything is great in the US of A. It was such a great week watching CNN, anticipating Obama's great win...a bit of a let down a week later though because we must wait until Bush moves out. Change will come, and I think Obama has his work cut out for him! These Americans are frustratingly short minded sometimes so I can't wait until Obama shows America how things can be done differently while keeping the Capitalists happy at the same time. Chuckle... I felt the world was like one big global family as I watched many countries around the world celebrate his win on TV.

The family is doing well, Aoife started school this year, and as 4 year old's go she has taken the role of my master. She tells me what to do all the time now, what I should wear, that I should clean my car, what music to listen to on the radio, and when to pick her up from school (before nap time)...cheeky missus. Well, if you are making the move to America it is absolutely compulsory to visit me!

Cork...was good. I'm at home in Clare at the moment. I had to get my wisdom teeth surgically removed. Enough said.

oye oye well done on the fantastic turn out in dublin! 10,000...damn! That's a lot of students there. Your voice must be gone, but I bet the atmosphere was phenomenal. When will be the all Ireland protest? Can't wait for that...and can't wait for the after party too (if i'm not tired enough, considering how tired I was after the "little" one). I still have my sexy t-shirt I am oh so proud of.

Oh yeah, did you watch tv yesterday? I think it was prime time or something about where money is going in universities and all. Apparently universities are paying super high wages to people.
