Well, after being on this site nearly three years now, I can't help but think a lot has changed.
Roleplay has become so different.
Back in 2007, it was so simple and fun, and you would roleplay anything.
Everyone roleplayed with everyone, it was amazing.
No one was discriminated for being a n00b or roleplaying something different.
I want things too back too times like that, because a lot of people that roleplayed back then have began too leave or become inactive.

So please, share your thoughts on this issue:

I do that :D lol, I aim to please myself, the other person and anyone else that is put into the plot I provoid. I used to hate writing starters, now I just do them when bored and send them to multiple people haha Always interesting to see the replies I get back, and how different they are from one another... One of my friends I had to teach and help them adept to the depth of the RP starter I wrote, so they didn't come across as... I'd say n00b by that isn't the word i'm looking for, you know what I mean though... Less... experienced I guess. "The Best" are just mostly the originals, or those who know how to set the scene, fight, involve the reader and the writer... Most originals have those traits, but are rare to find nowadays due to how many keep leaving. I've left once, and refuse to bare my old name for personal reasons.

KONCRHYME ; To me, those who are considered on the top level are those who play fair in every aspect. That is, no god-modding, no power-modding, those that allow a respective amount of response time. Those that keep consistant minimal errors in their text, and a smooth flow to their writings. But that's my oppinion alone, I don't know about the other people out there. Creativity is also something I look forwards to during my roleplays, or just that certain something that makes the roleplay all the more interesting. Whatever that may be. SOMEONE THAT MAKES ROLEPLAY ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE FOR THE READER/ RESPONDER/ OPPONENT/ WHATEVERYOUWANNACALL'EM.

Hmm, I'm curious. I've never come across one of "The Best" you all keep talking about. What are they?

VengefulSAMURAI Actions like throwing a punch, not intentionally strong, and striking your opponent, are fair enough. Sometimes you don't clock on to a punch before its too late, if your not alert. Setting the scene usually does mean that your character seems the strongest or you allow your opponent to imagine them being that way. It's not god modding at all, its simply being creative :)

Only time I God-Mod is at the very start... with the starter so I can set the scene then that is it with me, no more God-Modding, and if any occurs it is just the slightest typical attack like throwing the person etc. Despite the fact I rarely fight now, it's grown... slow.

VengefulSAMURAI It's natural to overpower a character at the start, though over the years people usually learn to tone things down. Some roleplayers, the so called "best", still god-mod, but use fancy words, long comments and a snazzy layout to cover it up. Basically they are advanced n00bs. Evolved forms of parasitic creatures from the depths of the roleplay world... or somewhere like that.

I'm one of the Original RPers on bebo... thought I'd return after killing off my last character from many years back... Still quite young, ish... depending on what you class young ;) Aaanyway, RP has gone downhill, the Plot and Story fun time RPs of the past no-long exist. I'm still doing them, and still intruiging more people to RP with me after hearing about some of mine. I just wish some of these, idiotic RPers would grow up >.< and stop over powering their character. I'll admit, I've overpowered my character before, everyone has... some without noticing, I didn't notice for about 4 months.

As a roleplayer since the good ol' years of '06, I have seen an immense improvement in the standard of roleplay. As the years progressed, more people came to Bebo to join the ever-expanding site. All was well for a time - till suddenly the first Muppet came up with the ingenious idea of laying down pointless rules one must abide by when challenging said person to a RPF/Or just regular RP. Sure, it was bond to happen eventually but, in my opinion, this was the exact reason roleplay changed for the worse. Now more and more retards are coming up with more stupid rules as the time goes by. Don't get me wrong, I understand some of the reasons for laying down certain rules- like the godmoulding and no text talk - but, why fucking create the other damn rules? Seriously dudes, what's the point? Whoever said that there were rules one's imagination must follow? Nobody did... And don't even get me started on the self-proclaimed dickheads who think they're 'The Best Rpers' on here...

o_O A lot of comments. Thank you everyone. This is amazing. I, for a long time, have always thought roleplay would not differ, but I do think it has. People these days are too into it! They are too serious. These roleplayers and changing roleplay. It's because of people like this that people have begun too leave, like Midnight-Star! There goes a perfectly good roleplayer! I have contemplated on leaving as well, but decided against it because I have a few solid friends on here. I do like OOC, agreeing with Skye. I luv getting too know people, and making friends. Maybe, some of us can start changing it back too how it used too be: Fun Not As Serious and most of all COMPLETELY RANDOM!!!!:DD (Group Mod: Rocket Grunt Adelaide.)

VengefulSAMURAI It's only natural that people will leave bebo, as its time to move on from things. However, you shouldn't join bebo or stay because of someone. Stay because you want to roleplay. The good ol' days still exist today, but only if you look hard enough. Give this a try: Gather a group of people (three maximum, and then yourself). Create a roleplay blog. Send a starter and get roleplaying. Don't take it too seriously and plan it out long term. THEN tell me you miss the good old days.

VengefulSAMURAI I totally disagree with that. OOC has always been around, though not as formal as it is now. Usually it was written in brackets, whereas now, most people take on aliases. There's no harm in OOC, but when there's no roleplay involved... that's when it starts to get pissy. I have to side with Skye on the earlier statement about Pokémon. Many people are classed as n00bs, but yet, everyone's just as helpful.

I agree and disagree to that. It`s not for only RP, but to make friends as well. I don`t like the idea of being on here, not really knowing the person I`m RPing with... I keep my Rp to Mail, as well, so no one knows how much RP I`m doing. >:3

Everyone these days are always talkin' fuckin' OOC. They should stick to Roleplay. After all, that's the whole point one made it, right? To freakin' Roleplay.

Roleplay has not gotten worse, i've been RPing since before bebo was about and Roleplay is always fun. Roleplay ers on the other hand.... the Majority on bebo are stuck up assholes, who think they're better than everyone else. If anyone has some RPers they'd like to name and shame, give me their name, character and a link to their profile, and i'll fight them and wipe the floor with them.... muahahaha

This group`s only just started, but it`s given me some inspiration. I thank ya`ll for that. (: Too many RPers these days are up their own arses. In my experience, Pokemon RP is the only RP that hasn`t got stuck up RPers. Everyone is kind and helpful of each other, and are half a second shy of being modest and commenting on how good the person they`re talking to is. ^-^

yes. it's now boring, and people seem to be more interested in finding an other half then roleplay. (you can do both, but roleplay should be roleplay) (::
