Overlord
So, I've been playing Overlord on the 360 for the last few days and I'm really quite enjoying it. Initially I was put off by some control problems but it turns out one of the pads we borrowed from friends is slightly dodgy. Nonetheless, I'd like to tell you all about this quite different game.
You play an evil overlord who's just been awoken by the last surviving remnants of his minion horde. His keep is in bits, he's wearing poxy steel armor and he can control no more than 5 creatures. Time for payback and all those old derivative plot devices. The plot isn't really the selling point although there is some half decent dialogue from your old minion captain. It reminds me of a slightly less accomplished dungeon keeper.
The joy comes from the actual style of play. Your Overlord has an axe and some magic but alone you really are in for a grizzly death. The way to avoid it is to use your minion army (which come in four types) to fight for you. It plays a bit like Pikmin on the Gamecube with fights, puzzles and collectable bits of your keep which were stolen by heroes. It all works fine and as soon as you have a couple of types of minion you'll be well able to direct four distinct groups wherever you want them to go with ease.
I haven't played more than a few hours but so far it's all pretty solid stuff with a bit of humor and some fine graphics. Well worth a try if you see it on the cheap. I'll comment on this blog with a final score when I finish it.0 komentarzy 862 dni

Blogging like anybody cared
You all care, right? No? Okay then.
Ah, three days of work left, no exams left until Xmas, a hopefully bitching holiday beginning in three days and far too much to do before I leave. Same story as always, eh?
And because I can't think of anything else to talk about I'll stop there. Sometimes it's just nice to write random thoughts down.2 komentarze 863 dni

Michael Bay deserves to be murdered after being raped liked he has raped my childhood
For a year now, I have lapped up every bit of news I could about the Transformers movie. I lapped it up and prayed that despite all the evidence, he wouldn't screw it up. But he has, big time.
What could have been an action packed, Transformer vs. Transformer battle with Autobots fighting for human kind and the good of the universe versus the Decepticons was instead an almost completely human action movie with one dimensional characters which happened to involve a few giant robots... from time to time.
The fact that more decepticons were taken out by the US military than the Autobots nearly killed me but the fact that Optimus had a mouth just put the cherry on the ass rape cake.
I have never been more disappointed in a movie before. And I know that this is partly because I was a big Transformers fan beforehand but by god that was a shit movie. Fuck you Michael Bay, you have sullied part of my (and a whole lot of other people's) childhood.7 komentarzy 877 dni

Hey man, Sorry about the late reply. I barely use bebo anymore. You seem to having a great time over in Japan. So, is it really technology central or is that just a western stigma? Yeah I'll definitely be around for the reunion. Wouldn't miss it. When are you coming back over? You better be heading to Cork. I've been promised that it will definitely be a great week of entertainment. Anyway chat soon man. Ta Ta.

Laura Daly57 tygodni temuso its a difficult language? alice has started taking chinese classes, n i attempted reading her books, doesnt seem too bad when they use normal letters but once they start showing you the chinese alphabet i get very impatient! why do they have 3 alphabets!
test - how do you say - a loaf of bread please! or one im sure uv figured out - one beer please!
and yes, all the cool kids are teachers
its going quite well, i like it more than i expected to. only annoying thing is that its a half hour walk to work which is quite irritating. guess it could be worse, its still not cold enough to need to wear a jacket here. if it starts raining on me ill be very unimpressed! spain is fantastic, as per usual! though not quite the same as my friends from last year live an hour away, so while i can go see them at weekends, theres no more wandering out for coffees with them or bumping into them on the streets...oh well!
you coming home for christmas? -

Did you have to get a TEFL cert for it or anything? There's an idea now...I'm trying to figure out what to do with the next few years because I don't want to go back to college yet!

Mike Spring70 tygodni temuHey dude. Exams all finished. It was odd not having you around to celebrate with. I shall commence writing that letter straight away. Incedentally, myself and a group of other individuals of a revolutionary persuasion are preparing to launch an endeavour in the political structure of Galway. Would you like to be our Japanese ambassador?

...google, dunno which is right!
