There are several reasons why I shouldn’t scooch in my chair in the eMac suite, the main reason being that I could potentially break a mac, or even worse, a chair. I may also trip over someone’s bag, causing me to fall over in the chair, thus breaking the chair and possibly a mac both at the same time, which would be most unfortunate. Although, if this incident did occur, it wouldn’t be my fault. It would be the person who left their bag on the floor’s fault, who in this particular case is none other than Ashley Patterson. So although you may blame me for scooching in my chair, the main culprit of this foolish act would be Ashley himself. I tried to tell him it was a bad idea to leave bags on the floor but he wouldn’t listen. Using the force, he grabbed my throat and lifted me from the ground before throwing me into a wall. I clasped hold of my Adam’s apple as I could feel myself slowly not being able to breathe. My breathing grew heavier and raspier by the second. He did nothing but look at me trying to catch my breath.
“I find your lack of faith in the force disturbing…” he mocked. I rose to my feet, still grasping my throat and trying to regain myself. I slowly pulled my lightsaber from my pocket and it erected into action. Ashley laughed at me and pulled out his double-ender. My eyes widened as I realised what I had got myself into. I couldn’t possibly hope to beat such a skilled and determined Jedi. I was just a Padawan and my training was not yet complete.
I pursed my lips and whistled. My two allies came to aid me in my battle. Dan Nagrecha was a young, handsome Padawan who, like me, was still under Master Obi Ed Putterill’s training. My other aide was a very old friend of mine, Nicholas Fletcher. He was an old and wise creature who was very small in stature. His skin was mostly green and he always talked strangely. I never asked him why he did this.
Ashley once again laughed at me. He pulled his cloak back and sprung toward me, striking me with his double-ended lightsaber. I threw mine down towards him, hoping to pummel him. He blocked me and used the force to throw me backwards. I fell into Jamie Dyer, who then fell backwards into an eMac, crushing it completely. The broken piece of the machinery fell onto my arm, immobilising me for a second. I struggled frantically, trying to get the heavy metal off me. All I could do was watch Nick and Dan fight my battle.
After seeing me injured, Nick got protective and he scrambled towards Ashley. He back-flipped from a wall and entered combat. Dan quickly followed. The duel was harsh and fast, as Ashley held my two friends back with his double-ended lightsaber. The beads of sweat gathering on Nick’s forehead glistened in the evening sun as he frantically tried to keep up with Ashley’s prowess. Nick was the first to go, as Ashley kicked Dan back. Dan flew into the wall and lay unconscious on the floor. Nick was too confident and he went in for the kill, only to underestimate Ashley’s power. With one single swipe, Nick’s arm was cut clean off. And in another, Nick’s head rolled towards me.
I couldn’t let my feelings for Nick disturb my battle with Darth Patterson. I struggled to lift the machinery from my arm. All I could do was watch helplessly as Ashley floated toward the unconscious Dan. With another flashing swipe, Dan was slew and I was all that was left of my friends. I considered asking Master Putterill to help me, but I knew it was too late. He was of no use to me anyway. Ashley had already set his sights on me. He came towards me. His walk was both terrifying and elegant, yet it had a ghostly float to it. I was still helpless underneath the rubble.
He once again laughed at me and lifted his lightsaber behind his head. “Are you ready to die, young Bradshaw?” he said in a chilling voice. I didn’t answer; I was far too scared. He cackled at me for which seemed like a lifetime before pummelling the double-ender towards me.
