  • From my heart to yours

    For all those who have been counted out but refused to be knocked
    out:this one is for you"

    As Christmas comes before us and we are at the dawn of a new year, I
    would like to thank you my listeners for your support, comments and moments
    shared over the last year and beyond. So many of us became caught up in the
    greed of the Celtic Tiger we now have a new opportunity in this new year to do something
    different and even make a difference. Over the years and indeed throughout my career I
    have helped a number of organisations but I want to do more.

    Recently I have become the official Patron of Wicklow Against Suicide. Though a long road I am determined to be part of the solution to reduce the suicide rate in this country. This is
    something which goes straight to my heart and I believe I have the passion and energy
    to bring about real change and currently am working with people in the field to establish
    new strategies, particularly in relation to young people.

    I also plan to write a book which touches on some of the major issues which have shaped
    my life and share the journey with you.

    As we approch 2010 we all have the ability to do something like this, believe in ourselves, in
    our abilities and reach out to embrace all of those around us.
    Let's get the community spirit back, Let's be more tolerant of eachother and let's be proud of
    one another.

    Each day all of us face different obstacles but sometimes instead of overcoming
    these obstacles we can take a different route and help others to overcome theirs. Together
    we can achieve real change.

  • Hugs to Paul

    We're very sad to tell you all that Paul O gradys Buster has sadly passed away after a short illness.

    Paul and all the team are devastated and will all miss Buster very much. He had a long and happy life. Paul will pay tribute to his best friend on Monday's show.

    Thank you all for your kind words, we know you will miss him as much as we will.

    Buster was a Shih Tzu/Bichon Frise cross. Having grown up on the Big Breakfast Show and Lily Live, he was happiest on television.

    From day one Buster was the star of the show and he's been known to perform the odd circus trick or two!

    He was awarded the 'Best Dog in TV' award by the TV Times magazine and we agree.
