Well, its been another Year!
Hello, everybody!
Its been a little over a year since my last entry, and i thought i would catch everybody up on how things have progressed since i wrote last.
In my last blog, i had just met Steven and Julie and were beginning to try and get gigs. Now, about 8 or 9 gigs later, we have a good setlist of songs and a fanbase! Which is fantastic to say the least. . . But we found another band member worthy of elation. Enter Alan Walsh.
We were competing in the NUI "Witless" Competition and needed to find a permanent drummer, and Alan stepped up to the plate and bet those skins to a bloodied pulp, and really helped us to click and grow as a band.
I have also started singing operatically for recitals, for a change. It is a new vibe, where my own music can be quite intense, the operatic style of singing really centers me, needing utmost attention and passion to get it to sound right. I have been hit with a horrible scenario recently though, where i might have to skip a gig in the RDS (!!!) to do a college project with a group of people in GMIT, so ill let you know how that turns out, although if i have to miss the gig, ill be foaming at the mouth too much to be able to speak English.
Its my final year in College, and with no jobs to be had, i am elated that i have an excuse to be a full time songwriter and general gigger, even with a degree in Business. Tommy Tiernan hit the nail on the head there!
So, with everything going good on the music front, with a slight barrier for a big competition in the education front, i am celebrating a project worthy of celebration.
Come on '09, bring it on!0 Comments 271 days

Hey everybody, have a read!
Its mad, during the summer i was playing a lot of music, between gigging and busking i never had a guitar out of my hand! I earned a living off busking and it was good to me in some ways, but not in other ways, particularly health, so i packed up me takemine, bought a new guitar and got a steady job in the omniplex.
And for someone who loves music so much, i found myself very comfortable with work, college, a steady wage, which didnt help matters in terms of writing or putting myself out there in terms of gigging.
Thank god, i entereds the IT Factor again and won it again, this year in the originals catagory, and i got a bit of a kick but not much, and soon i was back into the rut. Enter Mr Stephen Kavanagh and Ms Julie Hough.
I met Stephen through an ex - bandmate of mine, and we became friends pretty quick, then bandmates. Story's dont get less complex.
Julie i met outside Cuba about a month ago. I heard her singing Aint no Sunshine and asked her if she wanted to jam. I found out she is also a fantastic pianist and she will be bringing her own special blend of piano playing to the set soon.
Between kav hitting the lows and julie hitting the stabbing highs, ill fit in somewhere in the middle and im delighted that its coming alone, slowly but surely.
Our first gig as the current threesome will take place in De Burgos, the 20th February, and then 8 days later, we play the Warwick Hotel, Galway. It is a gig that is fundraising and also celebrating the Galway division of PREDA, and we are supporting Damien Dempsey
I've been cocky and said that things are starting fast before, but sometimes the faster you try and climb, the faster you fall, so im taking it easy with this one, trying to get everybody comfortable and at peace with playing the music.
If anybody plays the Cello and is interested in playing with me, let me know!
I hope to talk to you all soon, hopefully in celebration of a project worthy of effort.

JESTER103 weeks agosongs sound really god man. Confused sounds great, like that a lot, interesting voice work in it, hi and low switching between lead and backing vocal. Crown of thorns good too, don't like the first third of it, then it gets into it and i likey. Intro could be a little fuller maybe, nice rhythm lost pulse though if that makes sense ha ha thats just me though. again great vocal work again sounds awesome and deadly guitar overlays. Voice is similar to a band i used to listen to years ago, LIfe of Agony!!!
Great stereo effect on the backing vocal in third song.
Anyway just passing through bored in work and giving my opinion. ill watch for dates and catch ya play sometime in Galway.
later dude.
