- I knit, I spit…I can be charmingly empathetic and sardonic and cynical…my sense of humor is a bit goofy. I love to read books and hike mountains, write poetry and watch war epics, take photographs and ride horses, dress up for a dance and dress down for a game of “Capture the Flag”. One minute, I’m taking on Nietzsche and the next minute, I’m arguing politics. I am a huge fan of Monty Python, MST 3000, X-Files, the Simpsons, and The Lord of the Rings…but don’t dare call me a tomboy, because I love Jane Austen, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and Shakespeare. I have a weakness for animals, a poignant love song, sushi, and even occasionally have a good cry in a movie. I experience life in all its exhilarating triumphs and crushing disappointments, clinging tightly to the values and beliefs which define me.

Life is busy but good
I have reached the halfway mark of the semester and there is still so much to accomplish, but after the next two weeks, I will see a SERIOUS light at the end of the tunnel. I'm having a good time working on a lot of copyright issues in the Office of Information Technology.
My wedding is not a priority right now but I feel very comfortable with where I am in the planning. My next big decision will be the florist and I'll probably purchase my veil next month. Lots of little decisions because most of the big hurdles have been cleared. We are definitely going to have a party that day, come hell or high water, but I just can't guarantee at this point that anything will be aesthetically pleasing. But the DJ will play the music, so that's all that really matters, right?

Wedding update
Things going smoothly...have dress, have caterer, have hall, have bridesmaids' dresses...we are getting there! Next up, the florist and then I will start considering different tuxedos, music for reception, and minutia like shoes and the veil. But I feel really comfortable that everything will get done in time with minimal stress. Goodness knows there will be something that will go wrong but every good actress knows, the show must go on!!0 Comments 843 days

Updates...
Richard got his internship at the State Department and is cleared to being working this week! This is an awesome opportunity for him to use his skills and education. It may also open up job prospects.
I will also be teaching Freshmen in the 2007-2008 school year at the University of Maryland and working as an evening supervisor at the Performng Arts Library on campus. This means that I will have to train and monitor student workers, as well as serve as the final authority during evening and weekend shifts throughout the school year. This is a great opportunity for me and will probably help me procure a full-time position next Spring when I begin the job hunt in earnest.

I can't wait for the wedding! Randy and I are planning on coming out and making a vacation of it. Maybe we'll join you on your honeymoon. hahaha. Maybe not. Are you enjoying anytime off from school this summer? I am about ready to start painting our apartment. I am probably getting in way over my head with the project but it will look so great when I'm done. Hope you are doing well.
